Well, I am a relative newcomer to this volume of threads, which is open to all Nice People!

That's it; the only criterion is that you be a Nice Person!
(There's a stand just outside the door where you may leave any arguments or grouches while you are on here!)

* You might be a long-standing Nice Person, or a born-again Nice Person.

* You might be thinking of becoming a Nice Person, and want to try out being one! That's ok, too! Enter the Niceness Zone! You might like it! :D

* You might be a lapsed Nice Person, but all you have to do is stand up, say "My name is [username] and I am a lapsed Nice Person", and we will help you back into Niceness.

* You might be a Nice Person teetering on the edge of nastiness,, but we will gently hold your hand and keep you from falling off the cliff of Niceness into the abyss below.

* If you are normally a nasty person, we would be pleased to give you a TNV - Temporarily Nice Visa, so that you can come in and be as nice as pie while you're here. Don't worry...we will keep your temporary Niceness confidential, so that it won't mar your street cred!

Now, one or two things that might help you get the most out of this thread:

#Nice People are referred to as NP, which also stands for the singular, Nice Person.

#The Centre of the Nice People Universe is Hertfordshire. (I'm not sure why; maybe all this Niceness originated in Herts and spread out like an ink blot on the class register).
So, there are only two points of reference in the Nice People Universe: Inner Herts and Outer Herts.
A lot of people on here live in Inner Herts. I and several others live in Outer Herts. (Outer Herts encompasses not only the rest of Britain, but the rest of the world, and indeed, the known universe). We have had members in Australia, and for all I know, there may be some on the moons of Jupiter.
Outer Hertsians are considered as equals to Inner Hertsians; the distinction between them just makes it easier to pinpoint where we all are. :D:D

#It may take a while to decipher our peculiarities, and boy! there are some! :D:D, but please ask if you are flummoxed! It might help if you have some peculiarities of your own, too!

#DQWD stands for, "Don't Quote, Will Delete", which indicates that the post/part of the post is only there temporarily, and will be deleted, so please don't quote it.

We do actually have some members who openly admit being not nice sometimes, but we accept them as long as they behave nicely while on the thread! You're welcome here, anyway. :hello:

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I'm in Outer Herts borders. Most people think I am nice I think. The exceptions being people who have passed grade 8 on a musical instrument. They hate me usually and tell me I am not a nice person.

Well I have passed grade 8 on a musical instrument yet I don't hate anybody!
I always think it's best to assume Niceness unless proven otherwise! :)

Eh? Why would that happen? There weren't any arguments. :(:(

Do you have to request that the old thread is closed, Maggie?
