Nice people thread part 3- Nice as pie

A poor substitute for Carolt, creator of the original nice people neutral territory thread I've started this one as our part two was long-long.

The last thread was here:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2317529

In Carolt's words (mostly!)

Welcome all to the {} thread devoted to/demanded by the lovely people who hang out on MSE.

If you've just arrived here - welcome to you too :hello:, take your hat off, pull up a comfy chair and help yourself to a long cool drink from the virtual fridge (or real fridge - even better)...

This is an extension of this thread:

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...html?t=2110023

which, at 123 pages and counting, has been deemed too unwieldy.

So - all nice people who would like to discuss the Important Issues of House Prices, the Economy and Recession (oh yes, and possibly occasionally just
mention popstars, pin-ups, pets and pies, and - of course -CHOCOLATE ) know exactly where to come. :)

Enjoy - here's some cheery smilies to get you in the mood:

:j
:beer::p:D:):T;):rotfl::A:laugh: :kiss: :wave::grouphug::dance:

Or just make you feel rather dizzy.

Oooh - I get on the first page.

Hello to all the nice people.

For those following my house-buying adventures, the news is that exchange is looking unlikely before 18th December when my sellers' sellers return from their holiday, but I am hoping that won't delay completion too far beyond the original planned idea of some time in the first or second week of Jan. I am trying to be relaxed about timing - as long as I get the house it doesn't make an enormous difference exactly when I get it.

ETA Just caught up on the last three pages of "Nice people 2" and see Wageslave is back. Yay! :j Hi Wageslave. :hello:

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Its bound to make you less than relaxed...stressed, exited, hopeful, worried...

I wouldn't like to go out shopping with you if the length of time your house buying takes is anything to go by :)

    Ooohhh a shiny new thread!

In reply to WS on the old one - I am a bit of a stickler for authority rules and especially if it involves education...the children say I am a bit OCD about the education bit.

Plus, I don't like to show I have a weakness, so will do everything possible to only show strength.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I'm also a bit obsessed by education BUT tomorrow's Friday. About 10 years ago when we had unexpected snow, my kids were on a school coach that was stuck at school. They fed them the next days school dinners as supper and intended to have them all sleep in the gym overnight! Eventually they left school at 8 pm to try and get them home, the coach got most of the way and then they had to walk them the last mile. They got home at past midnight. If they had been stranded at school on a week night it would have been bad enough, but to be stranded there at a weekend....

Success on the bird feeding station.

I've stopped putting seeds on the tray, so now they have the choice of the water tray or feeding from the fat balls. The squirrels can't get to the fat balls so stay away. The blue/ yellow tits fed from the fat balls and I put some seed on the decking near where the robin hops. To my delight he hopped out and ate the seeds.
