I just swept the whole of the front path of little snowy balls, with a small handbrush, thinking "if there's no more snow then the path won't be slidey in the morning". Stepped back inside, put the brush down, turned around ... bloomin' snowin' again!!

    Woohoo, a whole new thread!!

No Carolt? No Chuckie? Nah, they will back.

    How goes everyone else?

I haven't had much free time lately, two small children, one large dog and two jobs don't really equal a great deal of me time. I have been reduced to cleaning the bliddy house at midnight.

However, I have decided that martyrs aren't rewarded this side of heaven. We can live in filth:o

So bring me up to speed. Hows you LIR? Mewbie still as fanciable as ever? Mr B? PN you still in a camper van?

    Everyone?

    Immediate updates perlease......

Success on the bird feeding station.

I've stopped putting seeds on the tray, so now they have the choice of the water tray or feeding from the fat balls. The squirrels can't get to the fat balls so stay away. The blue/ yellow tits fed from the fat balls and I put some seed on the decking near where the robin hops. To my delight he hopped out and ate the seeds.

It is quite a challenge working out how to foil the avian visitors one doesn't want, in our case jackdaws and pigeons. The daws, in particular, wreck anything they can get their beaks on.

In the process, other birds can also be forced to adopt strange behaviours, like the robin which learned to hover, hummingbird style, when we made the fat ball landing area too extreme for anything, except tits.

Got a reasonable compromise now. The woodpeckers can land, but the jackdaws either don't see the goodies from above, or more likely, they reckon we have them beaten and don't bother to try. :)

£35 quid aint to be sneezed at, it is one pair of (reduced) Carvella shoes. That's four pairs a month.

Anyways, everyone starts somewhere. Is it chickens? Will I grin and tell people I knew you when you were a pauper in ten years?

Nothing is secure in my life and TBH my thinking has changed. I think I have been a bit of a c*n*t about the girls.

I am taking everything day by day.

I'm fine too, but spent-up for the time being.:)

On a controversial note, I received notice of my Winter Fuel Allowance today. Apparently, it will arrive in about three weeks, just in time to save us from eating Spam for Christmas dinner. :D

However, having thought about it, I reckon as we have plenty of timber, and wood is what we burn to stay warm, it wouldn't be a misuse of the money if I bought a shiny new chain saw with it.

Spam? Chain saw? Goose? Spam? Turkey? Chain saw? Decisions, decisions...:(

    .

I wish! Its dobbins. I reckon I top out my dobbin earning potential at about £800 a week for that at this place though...and not anytime soon.

I do have a birdy business arm....and its hilarious but I'm keeping schtum because it might not happen and its too weird and I don't want anyone to nip in and jump on the offer been made to me...if it can be done I'll be doing it, but now is NOT the right time.

edit: £35 quid is a couple of reclaimed stone tiles, the corner or a windo to be replaced or 1/215th of the quote we were given for window painting.
