Why is this so cheap all of a sudden?
Can anyone throw any light on this?If you use a online unlocker 99% of the time if you dont know what you are doing you will damage the proramming and then the phone will need to be reprogrammed.
Not true entering the wrong code wont do the phone any harm at all, simply means that if you enter teh wrong code 5 times, you needs to be done with equipment0 -
Sold my first 2 phones on ebay for 80 quid!

There are concerns that CPW may already be out of stock and a lot of their web customers are still waiting for final confirmation of their order.
If you ordered the first of your handsets via this channel I would suggest hedging your bets and ordering the second in person in a local store (if there are any left) or via E2Save - that way you may increase your chance of getting at least one of your orders.
In a way, I would say the same applies for anyone who is concerned about the status of their existing CPW order - repeat the order with E2Save and if you are lucky enough to get 2 orders fulfilled, just return the CPW order to your local store.

I've done this, i ordered from cpw last night and recieved the normal confirmation email, but never another after they had all day to go over it.
If I get both, I'll either sell one on or take it back0 -

Do you need to buy the £15.00 credit with the phone?

Hi Spikey,
The phone can be unlocked for free but there is something in the software that allows the user to setup the phone such that it will always try and seek out a 3G signal and use the 3G network wherever possible. This has been set and the menu item to change this back has been deleted by Nokia on the request of Hutchison 3G so that the phone will use the 3 network as much as possible. This is because H3G earn far less (and may even lose money) when their users piggy back on the O2 network when out of 3G signal - H3G don't wish to pay more than they have to and thus don't wish their users to be able to choose to use the O2 signal when a 3 signal also exists.
Basically this means that if you wish to use this phone with a 2G network that also has a 3G service (currently Vodafone & Orange have 3G networks up and running) you will have to get this phone factory reset to reveal this menu item and then set it to only look for 2G networks. If you don't do this, your handset will always seek and find the 3G network and fail to log-on as you will not have permission to access the 3G network with your 2G SIM. The net effect is that your phone will fail to work.
However, given the above explanation, it is quite likely that this phone may work on 2G networks that do NOT also have 3G networks up and running as there will be no 3G network for the handset to lock onto. However, the moment they do roll out their own 3G network, your handset will fail to work.
While the unlocking is available for free, the factory reset requires some hardware and will not be free. You will need to find a local independent mobile trader with the necessary hardware and pay them for the factory reset service...or send your phone off to a well respected online dealer for the same.
