Yes zain the phone is Pay as You Go - absolutly NO contract. If you wanted to you could just throw away the sim card, unlock the phone for free and have yourself a phone worth a good £200+ for £44.99.
The cheapest you could theoretically get this phone for is:
Pay £44.99 for phone
Approx £19.99 for selling sim
£10 trade in at CPW
5% Greasy Palm cashback worth £2.38
TOTAL COST FOR PHONE £12.62!!!!
ULTIMATE BARGAIN IN MY BOOK!!! ;D ;D ;DThe main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing:)0 -
So many questions lol - I'll help RM out by answering a few...
The phone can easily be unlocked as it is a Nokia. That means you don't have to use it on 3G. If you need to get the phone unlocked, Unlockme.co.uk is great it has free software you can download to help you unlock phones or alternativly you can sign up to the forums and ask someone to give you the unlock code. Go here: http://www.unlockme.co.uk/unlockme.html to take a look.
Josh
Sorry Josh but it isnt as easy as that. Yes you can unlock it free online but you still wont be able to use your normal 2G sim. you will have to go to a shop that unlocks phones and ask for a hardware reset and while he is at it unlock the phone as well.
CPW hide the network changer which is no. 7, this is to stop you changing it to GSM.
Once it has had a hardware reset the no. 7 reappears and you can change it to GSM. If you dont you will not get a signal or if you do it will drop all the time as it is set to search for 3G only.
I believe the average price to reset it is £10.00.
You can still use your 3G sim but you will have to change the network back from GSM0 -
Question for the master of mobiles himself.... (or anybody else who can answer this for me).
1. I am currently on 3 on a contract which I no longer want to be but want to get this phone, can I keep my number go to PAYG and use this phone?
2. mutty_hc asked how to get it 'flashed', what does that mean and can it be done?
3. Can we get the 'hardware reset' done online? or get instructions on how to do it yourself?

Hi Reestit
well, with a bit of trepidation (its a funnny shape and wil i be able to use it I ask myself?) I've ordered one so thanks for the tip.
Presumably I would sell the Sim cos I want to go on a different network after unlocking (oh lor!!). Can you advise on the best network and how much I can expect to pay for a replacement Sim??
BTW when I ordred there was no mention of the £15 call voucher, so I hope its still included......
cheers again :-*
PS - do you think this will still be "cutting edge" and a bargain by Christmas?
thanksStop looking for answers....
The most you can hope for are clues.....:)0 -
