So they shouldn't do this or that and they should do the other
BUT out of 189 passengers you'll always have enough people who won't have, they'll be more stories of seating problems.

What's wrong with wanting to sit with your companion?

I had an uncomfortable flight from Chicago to Los Angeles in a middle seat, between a guy to sneezed much of the way and a guy who smelled.

Splitting all 18 is just petty.

It might be me (too early, not enough caffeine) but I'm not getting your point.
If everybody on the plane feels it's important enough to them to pay to sit with their friend/partner/family, it's likely that some people will be disappointed.

I really can't understand why someone who feels it's very important to sit next to their travelling companions won't pay to do so.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to sit with your companions.

But if the airline you've chosen to fly with has a charge to do this, you need to pay or take your chances.

Ryanair is a business, with the aim to make a profit.
If they wish to have a business model that makes people pay to sit together that is entirely up to them.
If you don't like that business model, choose an alternative airline.

That would be £3. Again, if don't think sitting next to your friends is worth £3 how angry can you really be that you've been split up?

I'd pay to not have to sit next to parent when travelling - she annoys the life out of me if we sit together. Preferred option is two aisle seats, quite happy for them to be opposite ends of the plane.
I would pay to pick a long haul seat, shorter flights it's really not important to me.

Why would it cause adults to be anxious? Why would splitting a group of adults slow down an evacuation? If they were bothered about sitting together they would have paid, and I'm sure most grown people don't get anxious when seated apart from a travelling companion.

If they are a nervous flyer and want to be seated with someone they know then pure common sense should tell them that they prebook a seat.

Good on Ryanair. Why should 15 grown women be given something for free that has a charge attached to it? Apart from that it cuts down on the rowdy, alcohol fuelled behaviour that the hens are usually worse for than the stags.
