Barclaycard do not seem to be offering the 6.9% to existing customers.
Where did Martin get his information from?

I got the deal 2 or 3 months ago.

Card had had a zero balance for a few months. Just rang them up and was offered it immediately. No funny threats or gnashing of teeth.

6.9% LOB + 2.5% fee. Think they gave me a couple of weeks to complete any transfers I wanted including.

I just did one BT and that was that. Been running as expected.

I got a 6.9% LOB deal on my Initial card, yes I am a new customer but the Initial card shouldn't come with any offers like this as it's kind of sub-prime ...

... Interestingly if I call up they say there isn't any fee, but if I log in to my account on line it says there is a 2.5% fee.

Would be a nifty offer if I had anything to transfer lol :o

Oh just for completeness mine is a platinum. Took it out for an introductory offer (12 months 0% on purchases??) then paid it off when the deal ended. They didn't proactively make me any offers.... I just called up.

Hi everyone, i really hope someone is kind enough to give me hand....

    i have a initial barclaycard 19.9 % i owe £975 and the credit limit is £1400
a tesco clubcard at 18.9% i owe £296 and the credit limit is £400

Am i right to assume that if i apply for the Barclays card deal for existing customers i will have now a credit card debt of £1271( + 3% balance transfer fee) at 6.9% ?

You can't balance transfer from one Barclaycard to another.

Before shifting your money back to barclaycard, do you have to ring and request 6.9% lifetime transfer or is it dont automatically?

You should always check the details of any balance transfer. Assume nothing.

Hello, I've just read the article and I'm considering doing as suggested as I have quite a bit of debt over three cards that I'd like to manage better. However, in my Barclaycard account, when I select Balance Transfer I'm getting a different offer: 0% interest then your standard purchase rate after the promotional period ends (August 2011) with 2.5% handling fee. So would I have to take that instead of the 6.9% for life deal?

I already have over £4k on my Barclaycard, so I'm guessing that would stay at the current higher rate unless I can transfer that onto one of the other cards temporarily. I don't think I have the credit limit on the other cards to be able to transfer all of it.

Before I go ahead with this, has anyone been caught out doing this? i.e. transferred the money away from their Barclaycard then not been able to transfer it back again?
