i think it unlikely it will be connected.
if you want to check out your account go to the paypal website and log in from there, i wouldn't advise using any links sent by email of this type.'What's poignancy grandad?'

Just to make very sure that it's not a hack attempt, I would immediately log in normally to paypal, and change your password. While you're there, you can check to see what email addys are attached to your account. Delete any you don't recognise.I haven't been asked to tell you that I'm the Board Drunk for this board. As the night wears on, my posts will become worse, with simple spelling mistakes, inane ramblings, and a blatant disregard for the truth. I have no authority to do anything, so there's no point asking or telling me. If you see me past midnight, please tell me to get my coat and order me a taxi.

I just received an email allegedly from ebay, it was as follows stating that someone had attempted to log into my account abroad and they ask for all of your login details and card and pin details. Ignore this as it looks like a Phishing technique!!!
"Dear eBay Member,
We recently noticed one or more attempts to log in to your eBay account from a foreign IP address and we have reasons to believe that your account was used by a third party without your authorization. If you recently accessed your account while traveling, the unusual login attempts may have been initiated by you
The login attempt was made from:
IP address: 172.25.210.66
ISP Host: cache-66.proxy.aol.com
By now, we used many techniques to verify the accuracy of the information our users provide us when they register on the Site. However, because user verification on the Internet is difficult, eBay cannot and does not confirm each user's purported identity. Thus, we have established an offline verification system o help you evaluate with who you are dealing with.
Click on the link below, fill the form and then submit as we will verify"
