Middle of the month and a few more payments have come out.

Managed to figure out how to make payments to the HSBC CC. Unlike other credit cards I've had their app doesn't allow you to pay it, unless you have other accounts with them. So I've set up a Payee via my current account holder and paid it that way...however took a Google to get all the info I needed to do that. There was no info on this info the paperwork provided or on the help section on the website. :o

    Morning,

Been quiet for a while on here. Not been feeling too well. I have rheumatoid arthritis, nothing I've mentioned here before but the health condition I've alluded to previously. It's not being managed well at all at the moment and I've been in so much pain. That brings on immense fatigue and also has a negative impact on my mental health. Not great with my now 5 month old twins :(
Had to call the hospital this week and went in on Wednesday for a steroid shot. I'm starting to feel a little more human again, just very achey.

Be that as it may I've still been chipping away at the debt.

    Still not feeling 100 % :(

At the end of last week I did a broadband switch. I'm coming to the end if my 5ky contract and it was about to go up by £1 a month. I shopped around and found a great deal for a faster (on paper) fibre broadband £9 cheaper a month than 5ky AND £89 cashback via TCB.

Called 5ky to see if they could either beat or offer me extras to convince me to stay. Well the guy on the other end was honest enough to say I won't get a better deal with them. So it's bye bye 5ky. Switch will happen mid December, hopefully smoothly.

Think my plan to pay the MBNA off in a year has been scuppered. Got my HSBC statement through and minimum payment is 2.5% of balance total rather than the 1% I'd assumed. Oh well. It's still all money off the debt :o

Good progress. As you say it is all money off the debt. I think a lot of credit cards are upping minimums to 2.5% and on the whole I think this is a good thing as keeping people in debt permanently is not to their benefit.

A bit late on setting my new month targets! December is truly my busiest month.

Had a further development on my broadband. 5ky called me from their retention team. I told the caller that I'd already called up to see if they could beat the deal. Well he said he'd take another look for me. Decided to at least see what they could do.

Well turns out they could offer me a good deal. Unlimited broadband for 12 months plus line rental ...total £16.20 a month. They were going to charge 35.99 a month which was why I had decided to leave. It was frustrating that I had to go and cancel with the new company but all in all I'm very happy with my almost £20 saving a month!

Well, had a lovely break away from my diary. Christmas was wonderful. Did not go over budget :T Everyone was happy :D

My car had its MOT though, which failed, so cost around 400 :(
Then whilst parked up outside DHs work someone hit the the nearside back wheel arch and drove off...so can't claim against someone for that...the :mad::mad::mad:

Then after Christmas my DS caught a sickness bug, then DH got it and now the tornado toddler is down :( DS and DH are fine now, thankfully their illness was brief. I really hope I don't get it.

In other news I've decided that as my mat pay will soon go to 0 I'm going to pay minimum on my debt until I get full pay again. That'll free up 150 a month. It takes some pressure off me to do KIT days as I'm stressing out about it.

I've just read through your diary and have subscribed.... You've done fantastically well, very inspirational.

My starting debt is similar to yours and we have a similar number of children, although hats off to you - all of my 5 are singletons and that's been hard enough, hopefully I'll be as efficient as you have been with the debt busting. I like how you update your debt monthly and put a percentage on it, I bet it's motivating!
