is the £37k figure the debt as it was at its highest, or should you really add the £3.6k hubby has just borrowed onto this figure? I'm just thinking, it might be more motivating do you to have the higher percentage figure.
Does that make sense?Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

Hi wishing,
that figure was when it was at its highest.
I had contemplated adding the debt onto that figure. Then I talked myself out of it because I didn't want to see that creep up. However, when we had to get a new car and washing machine earlier in the year, therefore, increasing debt, it just ended up looking like we'd not paid much off since the LBM.
You know what you're right. I really should add it on, even if it's closer to a 50k total
That's a job for later, after my strong morning coffee.

First of the month which means new targets.
This will be the first month I'll get just SMP so we'll have to be extra careful with spending. The only area we really need to get under control is the groceries. This should be OK as the main thing I've been failing at is midweek shop visits where I've been buying snacks. Seeing as one of my new targets is to actually lose weight I have the motivation to stop.
On the weight front I'm 20lbs over pre pregnancy weight and a further 14lbs over my ideal weight. So I really would like to lose at least 30 lbs. I'm squeezing into my clothes and I just refuse to spend money on more. It wasn't until I saw a photo of myself at a recent Halloween party that I truly saw me looking a little plump. I'm not going on any specific diet, just making healthier choices. No eating entire packets of biscuits in one go, no getting donuts (all my mid week bad shopping habits). I walk a huge amount each day now, always over 10k steps now. Just working my way up to going for a run again.....admittedly getting time for the running is an issue at the moment.
Following on from the comment Wishing made re the debt total. I'd toyed with increasing the figure back in April after coming back to diary following a sabbatical. I chose not to as I thought it would seem too depressing seeing that figure go up. However, as this debt busting roller coaster is so up and down it has meant that the section showing what we've paid off has fluctuated so much. It's meant that it appears we've not paid a great deal off since our LBM. And for those following my journey you jnkw this is not the case.
I've therefore spent some time this morning going back over our accounts from January onwards. It's meant the £37k figure has gone up to a £46k figure :eek:
BUT it does also mean that since June 2017 we've paid off a whopping £16600.19 (not Including any of today's payments) :T:T:T:T:j:j:j:j
But get this
16600.19 is 35.74 % of 46444.23 :j
You're right Wishing that figure really is a psychological boost
OK now onto current figures

Now that depends on whether I get a new 0% balance transfer deal.
The Lloyds CC runs out of its current 0% interest deal in January.
If BC or another CC offer me a 0% deal then that amount will be transferred.
What gets tackled next will be down to when the next 0% deal runs out.
If I can't get a 0% deal anywhere then Lloyds is my next target.
In December I will snowball the BC payment onto the Lloyds CC.
Between November and December I expect the Lloyds card total to decrease by £350 at least. My LBM May 2017, DH LBM July 2017- Total Debt (not Including Mortgage) £46444.23 £40773.61 /£46444.23 87.8% paid0 -
I'm so pleased my ramblings made sense to you and I'm pleased it's been the psychological boost I hoped it would be ( I also hope that this is it, that £46k figure is the highest it's ever going to be)
The bunting is being prepared for the barclaycard debt.. one good sale could tip that into oblivion.

Just itching to get rid of the BC! I have to be sensible though and not just clear it using my Mat leave savings. I don't want to leave myself short as I wouldn't then replace it
. However, I've just paid off another £6 , £1 from Qme3 earnings and £5 from 3bay sales. That leaves me 50p a day to find to clear in the time frame I've given myself....totally achievable. Possibly from Qme3 alone if I concentrate efforts. Part way through October (the 8th I believe) I decided to re concentrate on Qme3 and managed to earn £12.03 and in the 2 days we've had of November I've earned £1.34 therefore totally on track for a 50p a day goal. Obviously aiming for more.
In other news the twins are now 19 weeks old. Going through a definite growth spurt. One is more demanding than the other. This has meant the less demanding one has actually resorted to sucking her thumb. Neither accept a dummy. I just hope I can prevent the thumb sucking from being a long term issue.
Tornado toddler is sill being defiant when it comes to potty training. She recognises the need to wee and poop but chooses to wet herself or poop in her knickers. She often goes into another room or the corner of the living room to do her business, that's how I know she knows when she needs to go. We actually have more success when she's not wearing any knickers. Maybe she still thinks her knickers are like a nappy. Although she will always tell me they're not nappies! I have a feeling we'll be tackling this again at Christmas. I was always under the impression girls were easier than boys to potty train...but I've experienced the opposite so far. Dread it when it's the twins turn!
I genuinely find potty training the most stressful thing about parenting in the early years.

Yesterday whilst reading someone else's diary flapjacks were mentioned. It made me male flapjacks :rotfl: I ate loads of them! SMH I can't help it.
Think I'll do weigh in on a Friday morning. Missed doing it today as I only started my 'healthier choices diet' yesterday!

Another £2 off the BC thanks to more Qme3 earnings :T
I hope I keep the momentum going with Qme3 when I'll be putting the earnings to bigger balance's.
I also wonder whether I can clear the BC by this time next week
Today is mainly a baking day...so much for the healthy choices diet :rotfl:
Currently got a banana loaf in the oven to use up some ripened banana.
Will also be making an apple tray bake later to use up the extortionate amount of apples we have. I can't seem to get the balance right with apple purchases. They're DSs favourite fruit and he can sometimes eat 3 a day! If I buy to cover what he eats it'll be the week he scales back. If I don't buy enough he gets rather grumpy about it :rotfl:
Oh and he's finally got his first wobbly tooth at the grand old age of 6yrs and 8 months. He's hoping he loses it in a apple of all things :rotfl::rotfl: I suspect that's because I told him that's how I lost my first tooth. Mmmm how much is the tooth fairy paying for teeth these days :undecided
A bit of news on the 3bay front. Just sold the weirdest thing for 99p. .... 8 random kinder egg toys :rotfl: people will buy anything. After all fees etc I think it's only like 27p profit thoughBut still...27p off a debt/towards a purchase /into savings.
I've also successfully sold a few old playstation games that DH didn't want anymore. I was going to send them to CEX but begrudged paying postage. There isn't a store near by. So I opted to sell on 3bay and made slightly more than CEX were offering me. All proceeds from games sales will go towards DSs Christmas present of a new Switch game..probably Mario Kart.

Afternoon Diary,
Today I'm not feeling too good. Very achey and fatigued. Have so much to do and no motivation. Pushing through it though and trying to achieve a few things on my ever growing to do list.
It's not helped by the fact that DSs school text me just I got to the gates to state they were closed for the day due to heating faillure  it's not even that cold :rotfl:
I'm desperate to declutter my home. We have so much stuff. Stuff without homes so they just get shoved on bookshelves, end of dining table ...just around. I really need to take a step back and decide if we really NEED these things and if the answer is yes then I need to create a neat and tidy home for it. The next job will be to teach the WHOLE family about where things live and that it takes the same effort to put things back as it did taking it out.
Onto more MSE news. Posted a few 3bay items this morning. Refunded postage difference to a few customers. Promptly received messages off 2 of them. One seemed quite aggressive in tone asking why I had sent a refund as he won the auction fairly. I explained that it was postage refund...as explained in the PayPal message section I'd sent. He then apologised and said I needn't have bothered.....but who's betting he would've marked me down on postage costs!!
Another £1 earned on Qme3 :T eek getting closer to the BC being cleared.
I've set up our notice board in the kitchen to now show our debt at the beginning of each month. I'm aware that I generally take care of most of the debt repayments and DH doesn't see the figures like I do. He's terrible with numbers and with everything money related, often wildly under estimating costs etc. So I want it staring him in the face every day as a reminder of not only how much it's outstanding but how it's being reduced.
