  • Another little bit off the BC today from tidying up the current account and Qme3 earnings.

Also had some 3bay success selling DS old clothes. Made over £20 after all fees from 3 bundles. Can't complain really. These funds are earmarked for a new (maybe second hand) high chair.

  • Hey diary world.

Still chipping away slowly at the debt. It's the time of the month where it's only small over payments but still.
I'm definitely on course to clear the BC by the end of Nov. I have my usual £210 budgeted payment leaving £21 to find from tidying up accounts and Qme3. Ideally I'd like it cleared by 22nd of November which is when the latest payment is due. Fingers crossed once cleared I will be given an offer for a 0% balance transfer.

DHs MBNA card hasn't come through yet so no money transfers have happened and no bike purchased yet.

No heating on yet...I nearly put it on yesterday. But upon picking up a twin to feed she warmed up me, my little hit water bottle :rotfl: so I'm hoping to make it until November without using turning it on ...wow I've turned into my dad :rotfl:

  • Re the transport , I'm a bit confused as to why he needs a company car AND a bike

Can you not make do without the bike until he is eligible for a company vehicle ?

It seems that taking in to account the bike payments and the company car deductions , you would just aswell buy a car

sorry but I don't get why you would need both

can you not muddle by until his probation ends
  • Well done on that Barclaycard almost being gone. Not sure what to suggest re transport. Why does he need a brand new bike?

    Mot purposes
Although the new ones he was looking at were a very unknown brand and from further research has found they're not good for winter riding...something I suggested he think about beforehand...but what do I know!

So he's going second hand but needs one big enough, cheap enough and with as much MOT left so he can save for the next one. Still no rush decisions though which is good.

Until he gets a company car, which he will need in order to pick up the kids after work on the days I won't be able to, he will need his own form of transport for work. I need the other car for my regular hospital visits and on those days he wouldn't be able to get to work on time using public transport.

Out of getting another cheap run around car and a motorbike a motorbike is cheaper to run in the long run. A motorbike is cheaper to insure, tax and uses less fuel on the commute. Added bonus, he'll get home quicker in the evenings.

Believe me it's not the route we've wanted to go down. It's frustrating. But looking at the payments etc DH can afford to do it.

I've heard to my frustration that the ikea highchairs are the best and were much cheaper than what I bought. Everybody loves them. Could get that then you'd still have money for an overpayment?

You're doing so well. You will get something for the car on scrap. Or if you're good at having a wreck on your drive you could sell the parts? That'll get more. Xxx

    Hi Kitten,

I'm getting the Ikea highchair. I've already got one that I've had since my first.
Sourced a second hand one which I'm collecting today for £7 :T

Will probably sell the whole car for spares and parts etc.
The thought of it upsets me a little   . Funny how you get attached to inanimate objects like cars. I've had it 6 years and we've had so many memories made with that car.

  • Inching ever closer to the end of the month, this year has just whizzed by.

I've paid off a couple more £ off the BC due to some Qme3 earnings. Definitely decided to get that paid up by around the 22nd November. No pressure!

I've been hammering the 3bay listings. Mainly old clothes from the kiddies. Small earnings but it's all been super helpful to have. I reckon I'd be able to use some of the profits to use towards the BC to ensure I'll reach my target. I hadn't realised how much I'd been listing /relisting until 3bay messaged me today upping my listing limit to 150 a month!! Every little helps. The ladies at the post office love seeing me every other day :rotfl:

Managed to get a second hand high chair, the easy clean Ikea one. :money:

Started potty training with the tornado toddler again. A disaster straight away. Pee'd all over the hallway and poo'd into her knickers. I took her to the shops last Thursday and she picked out her own knickers, she seemed so excited at the prospect. Oh I hope she gets it soon. Wasn't this difficult with DS.

Also my hope to not put on the heating before November failed this weekend. It got so cold. We even had a couple of snowflakes on Saturday

    Happy halloween

    Well it's another month down.

    Some positives

DH started his new job and it's going so well for him.
I've been making headway with 3bay and sold loads and decluttered in the process...still a long way to go with decluttering though.
The M&S Loan is actually one payment lower than I thought.

    Some negatives

My old car is on the blink :(
Debt has gone up because of the above.
Relented and put the heating on!

To cover some of the above points. DHs Loan statement came through and the outstanding is less than I've got calculated! Bonus

However, debt total has gone up as DH has done a money transfer for a second hand motorbike, tax and insurance. A direct debit has been set up of £150 a month so that the balance is cleared before the deal runs out.

I managed to earn another 50p in Qme3 and did an accounts tidy up which has meant another £3 off the BC.

I've also opened up a savings account for DH that he can't gain access to. He really is the worst at money management but even worse at savings if they're in reach of him.

Been reading up on premium bonds recently. Think I'll contribute to one for each of the kids once off maternity leave. It'll be an amount each on their birthdays.
