Where did you get the big pull ribbon from? really lovely.

I tried doing a 2 tier cake tonight only to be interrupted by my two year old that had dropped his teddy out of bed followed my my one year old who decided to throw up in his cot...so didnt get very far! Now sat with a hot choccie instead!

Well Done!!! jtb, your cakes are lovely. It's nice to see lemon for a change!

I have been looking around for dummies to put in a cake but can't believe the prices. I know you can get 2 packs for £5 in most supermarkets but as they come in 2's, it's still expensive! I only want to put 1 in but they are in plastic cases. Does anyone else split them and if so, do you wrap them?

Hello Moonpenny where you been hiding? LOL . I bought some dummies from Home bargains I think they were Tommy Tippee and i hang them with ribbon from the cake. I don't wrap them as I guessed the new mum would sterilise it anyway.

Thanks Shelley! Do you just use just 1 dummy? Been looking for a few more (inexpensive) things to put inside cakes. Some of the cakes on here are loaded with stuff. That's O.K. if its a gift but if your trying to sell them it's too expensive.

Been on the spend again today - Too much spending and not enough doing LOL!!! Trouble is - I just love hunting things down. Am going to stop messing about now and get down to it!!!

    Hi all,

    Just a quick question
How much do you charge for postage for a 3 tier like the ones i made? I've had an enquiry from a friend of a friend :j !

what sort of boxes do you pack them in and what do you put around them?

Do you use Royalmail or parcelforce?

lol..sorry that was more than one question but i'm so excited i've got some interest! :D

    Hi Moonpenny,

I'm the same as Shelley, just use one dummy and don't wrap it either. I got a3 pack of tommee tippee white ones from poundland for £1 (no really!):rotfl:

    Bellag,

I usully charge £7.50 for p & p but that's because it actually hasn't cost me anything yet as My mum has sent it through her shop. However as she lives 35 miles away it's not very convenient so have decided will need to use own courier service. Ebay looks the cheapest using DHL for about £7 I think. Boxes are expensive if you buy them as they really need to be double walled to protect it in transit. I then put the little polystyrene worms around them. I'm going to have to increase the p & p charge to £9.95 now to even get close to breaking even.

    Thanks Becs,

Gosh yeh its expensive to post! I quoted £7.50 last night but said i would need to get back to her with actual price. I think its going to be more though :o

Can I ask where you get your boxes from? I looked on the bagnbox site but couldnt find big enough ones...have I missed them?

Do you think air filled pillows would cost less to pack around the cake than the wotsits?

I still need to get cellopane and bows and cake boards and tag and .....argh!
May have to pop to a florist tmrw and see if they can wrap it for me.

gonna start dreaming about these cakes soon!:D
