Thanks for your input Moonpenny it is wise to think of all the legalities. I believe that it is ok to sell these items on as technically they are second hand. All items are removed from packaging and labels removed. At the moment it is not a concern as I am only doing them for friends and family and not a business. It is a minefield though !!!

    Thanks Shelley
Sorry to be a pain but, do you mean you remove labels from the back of garments etc? You can't remove names off toiletries!
Am only asking as I would love to have a go.
When you think about it, nearly everything that has been sold has been bought elsewhere, (with manufacturers names on)

Sorry Moonpenny I should have made myself more clear. Yes if they have tags I would remove the labels although fortunately most babygrows and vests do not have neck tags. Obviously there is nothing you can do about using Johnson's products although I only use the talc and soap, unfortunately everything is branded these days so you can't get away from it. If you have a good search on the web you'll find that most nappy cake businesses used branded goods and I am not aware of any legislation that stops you doing that.

    Hi all,

I recently did my second nappy cake, both my friends loved it. I must say, it wasn't as polished as some of the stunning cakes you have all made.

I have found some gorgeous baby trainer socks ( haven't seen anything like it before) and still have the contact details. They are £2.75 with free delivery at the moment. If you are interested, pm me and I will pass on the details.

Hi Kizzy I use a safety pin to secure the blanket together at the back and I tend to place two small strips of double sided tape in the cake board which stops any movement. Hope this has been of some help. Good luck x

    Hi Kizzy

I don't secure the blankets in the bottom with anything other than the ribbon, I fold it to the right height and then wrap it round and secure it with ribbon, Also I don't secure them to the base as when they are wrapped in cellophane I do it fairly tightly and they never budge not even in the post. However I do use a smal cane (garden cane or the plastic sticks you get that have the baloons on them and push it through the middle of the cake to secure the top and middle tier to the bottom. Again none of it shifts in transit.

    Hope that helps.

hi everyone, love all of your nappy cakes, made one for my niece earlier in the year, sorry didnt think to take pics. Just thought it might be useful for some of you to know that Huggies nappies have on offer on in Tesco at the moment they have 25% extra and also they are on special, think it was 2 for £10 small packs and 2 for £16 large packs.
This is my local Tesco Wellingborough, dont know if it is in every store though.
