Well, first off I'd like to say a HUGE thank-you to everyone for your inspirational creations! I've nearly finished my first ever nappy cake which is a present for a friend of mine who is expecting a little boy. I've really enjoyed making it and just need to add ribbon to each layer and then wrap it in cellophane before it's done! I'm quite pleased with it but thought I'd show it to you experts who might be able to suggest some tweaks! Anyway, It's cost me a fortune but it's got loads in it:
- 35 Size 2 Huggies Newborn Nappies
- 27 Size 1 Huggies Newborn Nappies
- Soft White Velour Self-spotted Blanket
- Soft Blue Fleece Blanket
- 5 Bodysuits (0-3 Months)
- 3 Newborn Bibs
- 2 Hats (0-3 months)
- 3 Pairs of Scratch Mitts
- 1 Pair Baby Booties
- 10 “Roses” - 5 Pairs of socks (0-2.5)
- 4 White Muslin Squares
- Baby Brush & Comb
- 3 ‘Burp’ Cloths
- 2 Tommee Tippee Anti-Colic Bottles
- 2 Mam Clear Orthadotic Soothers (0+)
- Cooling Teether (Stage 1)
- Rattle Teether (6+ months)
- Winnie the pooh bath thermometer
- 8 Baby Feeding Spoons (9+ months)
- Jellycat ‘Elly’
- Botanics Gentle & Mild Baby Bath Foam
- Botanics Gentle & Mild Baby Lotion
- Botanics Gentle & Mild Baby Shampoo

Thank you for your kind words!! The blanket was from Sainsbury's but rather expensive according to some of the posts on here (I paid £6 on offer but normally £8). Do you have a TKMAXX near you? The Elly was from there yesterday for £3.99 and I've seen them in quite a few so they might have them nationally! BTW - any ideas on how to stop him falling off!!
Em xXxMummy to two gorgeous LO's and always in search of a bargain!!!

EMJ2 ..... absolutely stunning.
I cannot believe that that is your first attempt. You've obviously got the knack.
How on earth did you manage to fit in all the contents, your friend I am sure will adore it.
I really don't think you need to change anything, it is beautiful.
You will find that once it is wrapped in cellofane, it will help to hold the Ellie on top.
Just one question ...... with all those contents inside ...... can you actually lift it ???A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -
lrlrip - yes the blanket is from Primark
Chocolate.Orange - Yes the roses are 2 pairs of socks
EMJ2- Fab cake, you would never guess that it was your first! I'm impresed that you managed to get so much in!0 -
