Jjojo_saphire - your cake is gorgeous. Nice to see the cotton blankets being used for a change.

mr_knight, I have put a long sleeved T- Shirt on the Shoe cakes. Folded in half and arms crossed over at back. Hold with a pin untill ribbon is on, then remove. I do same with Sleepsuits but they need folding 3 times.

I agree, Moonpenny yours always look immaculate, I wondered if you actually put card or tissue in them to look so neat.

Jo-Jo lovely cake and I love that spotty blankets. Are they from Primark?

Thanks, i did look in there the other day but could only find the plastic sheets, I'll have another look.
Failing that I suppose I could try and get some cheap stiffish material from dunelms.

Well, first off I'd like to say a HUGE thank-you to everyone for your inspirational creations! I've nearly finished my first ever nappy cake which is a present for a friend of mine who is expecting a little boy. I've really enjoyed making it and just need to add ribbon to each layer and then wrap it in cellophane before it's done! I'm quite pleased with it but thought I'd show it to you experts who might be able to suggest some tweaks! Anyway, It's cost me a fortune but it's got loads in it:
