Slightly off topic ......
But has anyone seen any of the cheap 'thickish type' dust sheets around anywhere on their travels?
I want one to cut up ......... after dusting down the old sewing machine.
Have you tried Robert Dyas? I think I saw some there a few weeks ago.“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

Hi - glad the thread is a bit happier again, I feel safe to come back now :-).
Someone mentioned a costing spreadsheet before I think, is anyone willing to share this with me pretty please? I have just done a cake for someone for £15 then when I added it up realised that I would not actually make any money so think I need to get things calculated before I quote prices!
Also what do you do about the clothing having labels on from shops? Is that allowed?
Any more tips on how to get the soft toys to stay on top of a one tiered cake and sit upright?
I think all of your cakes are wonderful and this thread is soooo inspiring.
Thanks0 -
Sorry one more question....
With sock cupcakes I have got the hang of one method I have learnt on Youtube but its with 3 socks (one for the cup and two for the icing) which is ok if doing two cakes but if only one that would be one odd sock too. How do you ladies do yours - is it just two socks in each one?
Thanks again0 -

I have a spreadsheet and do all of my costings on there and work out my charges and prices and everything else. I can send you a copy of that but would need you to PM me your email address.
as for socks I only use 2 pairs in mineI make a cup shape with one and then fold the other in half and roll that up small and then push it into the cup if that makes sense.

I also watched this on youtube. I presumed the lady sold more than one cupcake ie. a box, if not I don't know what she was doing with the odd sock:rotfl::rotfl: I have just made a couple and have used tgwo pairs of asda socks which are quite thick. I have used two for the cup and two for the icing.
For getting the toy to stay on top of the cake cut a small piece of card, round of the end and stick it down between nappies leaving a bit up the back of the toy. Then cut a slit and pop the tag through the slit. That is what I do but maybe someone else has a better idea.0 -

Thanks very much for sending me your tutorial... Coincidentally, your email was sent just before someone from Freecycle sent one asking for baking utensils!“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”
