    Hiya,

I'm concidering doing a craft fair, its not till september so i have lots of time to get ready, but its £40 for 6'. do you find you make back that money? also do you just sell the little bits and have the biger cakes more of an example then get orders after?
Also with the smaller bits which sell best?

    Thanks
I do sell a few cakes on the day the fairs i do people know i will be there and they do come back time and time again my little gifts sell very well as well my new lines sold out at my last fair but i think its cause i have been doing this fair now for 3 years and people know i will be there to get there gifts so they wait till the fair instead of buying on line

Oh that reminds me, I want to do a cake for my niece's welcoming ceremony, but she'll be 8 months by then so young baby items are out, especially the things she'll aready have been given when she was born. Apart from larger size nappies, what else could I include? So far I have a beaker, baby toothbrush and some weaning spoons.

Yes, I think they have been rollbacked lrlrip. I usually buy from Sainsbury's when they run the 1/3 off event, but am running low myself so thought I'd stock up. :)

Here's the cake I have made for my friend tonight, just needs neatening up and the ribbon and cellophane added tomorrow.

Also a close up of the Sainsbury's pink bunny:

And the Sainsbury's blue bear in the same range:

I bought a few when Sainsbury's had 50% off toys a month or so before Christmas as I hoped they'd come in handy for cakes in the future. I'm still debating whether to use one of those or a TY rocking horse for my friend though, hmmm.

Thank you natbag, I wouldn't have a clue how to post pics! your cake is lovely.
I have made one blue one so far but think I spent more time fiddling with it than making it so wrapped it up and sent to to the mum to be's mum for safe keeping.
Have been aked to make a pink one now but not needed until july!! not sure if I can wait that long!

For the welcoming cake you could put in some of the little card board books, think they are about £2.99 and have 6 in, my little one had Thomas the tank, also when weaning I found plastic bibs a god send and would make a little set with the spoon and cup:o

Natbag - lovely cakes :) well done. For your 8 month old cake you could use Pyjamas, you can get lovely ones in asda, or even a nightie which would be even cooler for summer. for that age you would probably need size 4 or 4+ nappies :) if you wanted something different to pj's then you could get a lovely summery dress and match it with a little pair of shoes and a hat? some of the dresses for babies come with matching hats so it would look lovely :)

Beautiful cakes to everyone else, I seem to forget to post in here for some reason. Well done to you all. Well doen Becs and Julie on your orders.

Candy sorry to hear about your daughter, hope she is on the road to recovery xx

Shelley hope things are ok for you xxx

Thanks Rusty, she's absolutely fine, you wouldn't think she'd had anything done, no pain or anything. Although not happy this morning. She wanted to go to school today, but I think the medicine has given her an upset tummy. She's so not impressed!!!
Another day of jigsaws, colouring and kid crafting for me I think :D
