I found them very helpful
Alternatively look on ebay for the right size not sure on prices but that is how I found defendapack
Thanks Rusty, like I said I had to buy off eBay in the end and they weren't cheap!! I'm just trying to figure out how you get your 3 tier cakes into 18x12x12 boxes?? I wish I could, make my life easier and cheaper!!"There are no pockets in a shroud..."0 -
Thanks Julie

Bargain babe, not sure how I get them to fit in but they do? ... the later ones with the ellies on them it is a bit more tricky but they still go in the boxesproblem is I bulk buy them and so rather than buying more I make do lol I saw loads of smaller boxes on ebay at a really reasonable price and was thinking of just buying a few for smaller ones etc. I could really do with some tiny boxes maybe 3x3 inches or 4x4 for other bits I am selling on ebay but will stick with the little envelopes I use at the min.

I havn't looked at it yet, as Im unsure if its going to work.
Would those of you who have done well out of this recommend taking sample photos of them all and then making up leaflets?Green and White Barmy Army!0 -
I have made up cakes and took pictures then used them pictures as samples. My main one for my cakes is a picture of a 1 tier, 2 tier and 3 tier all together which also have all of my website details and contact details etc.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0

Have you had any luck? I ended up buying some on eBay and they weren't exactly cheap.
Kr15snw - I also want to make some leaflets too, have you made any headway with your design?
Hiya BargainBabe
I also ordered some from Ebay this week but had to buy 25 of them at 24" x 12" x 18"! Spent more than I wanted when I only need one but we are trying to move house so the rest will be used for packing stuff in. I think they will be bigger than I need for my cake but i am going to pack some polystryrene around the cake to stop it moving (I hope!!!)
I wished I had realised I could ring Defendapak to ask them for more suitable box sizes though. I may have to try and start selling some cakes to make the boxes worth buying.
Question for the people who sell and post cakes: What do you use to pack around the cake once it's in a box?0 -
Yes kr15snw, I have taken lots of photos, including close ups, of the cakes I have made so far, and have made a couple of mock cakes in different colours and sizes specifically to photograph for promotional purposes.
I'm just in the process of building a little website to help advertise, then after that I'm going to get some fliers and leaflets done to hand out / pin up. Then I'm going to look for some fairs to get into and hopefully sell from. I'm really hoping to get on with it now after months of just talking about it!0 -

They do have a lot of boxes on their website.
When I sell them I normally use airpockets, although these are more expensive than peanuts (polystyrene) I also write on the box which way up etc.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Can someone tell me please what you use for the stems of sock roses and bouquets please?
Thanks0 -
