Hi guys, well done on all your gorgeous cakes and orders, they all look so fab!
Well my friend had her baby yesterday - a girl! So now I need to go buy lots of bits in pink for her nappy cake. Can't wait to make it and present it to her.
Anyone know where's cheapest to buy size 3 nappies at the moment please, either Huggies or Pampers?

    Hi all,

While out on my travels today looking for a teddy topper I can across some lovely little rabbits in sainsbury. They weren't with the teddies they were near the easter goodies, only had pink or blue no neutral colours but the best bit is they were only £1.99.

Hope this helps on the search for affordable teddies:o

I just bought from Asda Pampers size 3, two boxes of 104 in each for £20.

miss minx, any chance of pics of the sainsburys bunnies? They sounds good!

Tesco has its peter rabbit beanies reduced to £1.99 in my local store! Very cute!

Need to ask guys. Going to do some leaflets / facebook advertising as I really could do with the extra cash. Would you recommend I make up some mock ups showing ALL the styles / colours?

    Hiya,

I'm concidering doing a craft fair, its not till september so i have lots of time to get ready, but its £40 for 6'. do you find you make back that money? also do you just sell the little bits and have the biger cakes more of an example then get orders after?
Also with the smaller bits which sell best?

    Thanks

    Thanks lrlrip. :)

Went to Asda this evening and got 2 x boxes of 102 Huggies for £18 as well as all the bits needed to make my friend's cake. Think I'm going to pop to Home Bargains tomorrow for a blanket though as the Asda ones just aren't half as nice.

miss minx - those Sainsbury's soft toys match the blankets George at Asda sell just perfectly. kr15snw I'll take a picture of the ones I have in a mo. :)

I really need to get some mock cakes made up and photographed so I can start making some fliers, business cards and a simple website ready to attend a few craft fairs. I'd love to get some orders, just to make a bit of pocket money while on maternity leave. I'm on my 4th cake for a gift now and I'm so proud of how lovely they have turned out, but word doesn't seem to be spreading.

The nappies must be down in price again. I paid £20 just over a week ago.

Yes, I think they have been rollbacked lrlrip. I usually buy from Sainsbury's when they run the 1/3 off event, but am running low myself so thought I'd stock up. :)

Here's the cake I have made for my friend tonight, just needs neatening up and the ribbon and cellophane added tomorrow. It contains 25 x size 3 nappies, a bottle of Celebrations chocolates, 3 x baby vests, 3 x muslin cloths, a blanket, a hooded towel and wash cloth, 3 x sock pairs, baby's first bunny. Plus the cake board, ribbon and cellophane it has cost about £21 to make, so not bad really.

Also a close up of the Sainsbury's pink bunny:

And the Sainsbury's blue bear in the same range:

Please excuse the naff photos, going to retake tomorrow with some daylight and a white backdrop!
