Well not really but i would have done if my cake was ediable. The lady only bliming thought i made birthday cakes :rotfl: Even though my buisness card has 3 pics of nappy cakes. I take it as a Compliment that they actually looked like cakes either that or she was blind!
I couldn't for the life of me get her to understand what they were, She just kept going on about them saying how do you make them then? :rotfl::)Mummy to 2 wonderful boysWant to be fit for 30 not fat at 30but i want never gets!!!0 -

Wish i had the same problem. I have a box full of goodies and no orders. Not one single one from all the leaflets i made and sent out and emails to local places not fair. I can see i will have to ebay off my stash if things don't improve. I really don't know how you girls do it. Well done.:)Mummy to 2 wonderful boysWant to be fit for 30 not fat at 30but i want never gets!!!0 -

I just think i've been lucky really kitiaracat most of my sales have been through word of mouth, work colleagues, friends and family. Funny thing my OH was just saying that i always have orders and he was pleased for me. I have done 3 craft fairs but most sales are through word of mouth, yesterday there was a knock at the door from a mum at the school asking if I could make one by tomorrow!!! I don't sell any on the internet because I always have enough orders to keep me going. I do sometimes wonder when it will all dry up though as there are so many people starting to do it.Little Miss Chatterbox

I had another 3 people ask me for prices and leaflets at work today for various friends/relatives with iminent babes due. Also got 2 more women at work who are expecting so hopefully that will be another couple of orders from their departments so on top of the 4 from last week,1 the week before things have really picked up again! I hadn't done any at all since Christmas. It really does go in phases, can't help thinking alot of people see me take 1 into work and it jogs their memories!0

Issy59 ... fabulous cake, can't believe it's your 1st one.
Popkins ... love your dalmation cake, the red and white is just gorgeous.
Well done everyone on your sales/orders :T
I've put mine on hold for the moment.
We've just got back from a very long day at the hospital, with DD (4 yrs).
After 6 months of battling with the hospitals, she's finally had her operation today. I thought we'd have to stay in overnight, but luckily they've allowed us home. She was even playing 'hop scotch' when we came out of the hospital !!! I just hope she's feeling as well tomorrow.A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -
CandyB, Hope your little one is recovering after her op!
At least, with the cakes you can pick them up and put them down when you have to. Unless you get loads of orders, that is!
Have been to town today and have to agree Shelley – There are just NO TOYS about at all. I’m hoping it’s just with Mothers Day and Easter and once they are out of the way, they might stock up again. I have got quite a few in stock but am really short of girls toys.
P.S. Sad about your dog – don’t know if the extra week is a good or bad thing!
Are you all still putting sleepsuits in your cakes now summer is coming? Last year, my grandson was too hot in them (with the feet) and I bought him the ones with the short legs and sleeves. They cost a lot more though to put in cakes. On the subject of seasonal clothes, I bought a load of long sleeved T-shirts to go on my “Shoe” cakes and am now wondering if people will think they are for winter. What do you all think?0
