Oh no, I thought you meant per cupcake. I'd have thought you'd do better to sell them separately, as 10 hats etc is alot for someone to want. Plus, charging £10 per cupcake is easier then charging £100 per box - unless you're selling them to shops. Ooh I'm confised - they are gorgeous though. Well done!
Finished my nappy cake today! Gonna post a pic tomo when I can get hub to do it so watch this space for my first attempt!MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Hi RoxieW,
They're a box of 9 little cupcakes (sat in the normal fairy cake paper cases). The box of 9 is made from 3 pairs of socks (so each sock is 1 cake), 1 bib, 1 hat and 1 pair of scrat mitts. So it would be a box of cakes for £10. I think it's nicer to do them as a box of 9 as helps it to look more like a nice box of cakes. So for £10 you'd get 3 x pairs socks
1 x bib
1 x hat
1 x pair of scratch mitts
Does that make sense? It's confusing as lots of others selling what I would call "mini" nappy cakes as cupcakes.
Can't wait to see your nappy cake. Did you do a single or myltiple tier one? Have you been bitten by the bug?0 -

Ive made 2 nappy cakes now I used a medium packet of size 2 pampers. I got a pack of the very small hair bands the ones people use for hair braiding, there clear coloured. I rolled the nappys up and put a band round. then i used a present to hold the middle, i.e photo frame or bath thermometer. Use a large elastic band to hold all the nappys together whilst you build a round shape adding rolled nappys one at a time. When youve made a tier, use ribbon round the elastic band ties tightlythen slide the band down ready to use on the next layer. On the top layer I placed a teddy on top i got a peice of clear wrapping paper from the card shop it was about £1 place the cake on top scrap the wrap up tie with an elastic band and use a big bow. Somtimes its eiser to make the cake on a cake board or the lid of a sweet tin. Hope this helps if you want any pics just let me know.0

sorry becs - i thought you meant they had all that in each one. £10 for a box is amazing as they look fantasic.
I've doen a three tier cake for a friend who's due in september. They dont know what they're having so I've done a yellow/white and green theme with baby towel on bottom, babygrows on middle and bodysuits on top. However, it doesnt look so professional and neat as some I've seen on hereI'm hoping it looks better with the ribbon around tomorrow and secured properly. The main problem i'm having is that the middle tier is almost as big as the bottom making it look less cakey. Not sure what I can do about it though - cant add to the bottom tier as its already as big as the cake board
Also, finding it hard to get the babygrows arranged neatly but we'll see what you all think tomo! Cant wait to give it to her!
If anyone wants to know price wise here's what I put in it and cost
Approx 40 newborn size 3 nappies - £8
I pack wipes - £1.50
Baby towel and mitt - £3 primark
3 pack sleepsuit - £4.50 Primark
8 pack bodysuits - £4.50 primark
2 bibs - £4.50 mothercare
Giraffe topper - £7.99 mothercare
Total cost - £34
I enjoyed making it too - it was fun!MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

RoxieW that sounds fab. I had the same problem with my first cake too. I just played around with it for a while and took a few nappies out the top two tiers to make them smaller. I rolled up the baby vests and sleepsuits and replaced some of the rolled nappies with them rather than put them on the outside. It's all personal taste though really, I prefer the plainer simple look for my own-probably because if I tried bits on the outside it would end up looking like a jumble sale! I'm not very good at anything other than simple finishes, not artistic enough.
This was my first cake, although this was after adding and removing nappies in it for about half an hour playing the "I used to be indecisive now I'm not so sure game!":rotfl:0 -
Wow!! everyone seems to be having a really productive bank holiday
Well done everyone :T :T0 -
I did one a few months ago but didnt put any material around the outside. Just put some ribbon around it.
What has everyone used as the material and how have you done it?Green and White Barmy Army!0
