Thankyou to all the Girls on here your nappy cake making is an inspiration! I think im hooked! lol.
Quick question. What is the best way to cello wrap your cakes? I seem to make them look less attractive when I wrap them.0 -
I went to buy one the other day and they had changed them to white/silver and beige/brown.
They were still very cute designs, but I really loved these, especially as I have all the ribbons to match!!!A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -
I am not experienced with these things, but I too would say £20 for the bathtime nappy cake too.....if you went out to just buy those bits for someones new baby i bet you would easily spend that and more....
Got a lovely hooded towel in Tesco today for my sisters cake (my first ever one I am so excited....want to do 2 tiers with the towel round the bottom and then thought muslin round the next.....also have bits like baby vests, bath stuff etc for it....thanks for all the inspiration on here....you probably make it look too easy though and when I have a go it will no doubt look like a dogs dinner :rotfl: oh well, it is for my sister at least, so I could always just bag everything up...Jun GC £250.00/£12.40 NSD 3 / 30

You could still make up a cake for her, is it her first baby? mind you even if it isn't then you could still make it up. I used washables with Maddison and always had a stock of disposables even though I had 11 nappies we still used disposables on bad days and disposables were also fantastic for a day out as I didn't have to carry smelly nappies around with me ...
things you could add to your nappy cake should you continue to use disposables with it could ne nappy soak (mothercare) Safety pins although this depends on kind of nappy) a bag for keeping the dirty nappys in if she is out .... I think you really need to find out what make of washables she is using to be honest as they you can work out things like liners and pins etc see what you can come up with then.
I wanted to try a reusable cake but it just wasn't economical on price!
Thank you! I was going to ask about make of reuseables and then see if I can get some samples or something to start me off. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
