Thank you sethsgran ,the tutorial was great and came just at the right time as I was going to ask how to make rose sox and now I know lol.
I think the cake was too overloaded as I prefer the simple look too. Im making a small cake with pink and white socks as flowers-hopefully will have a picture soon.

Dopey Dora, this was my first attempt at sock roses, I use them as a topper on the single tier cakes to give them a little something extra.

I've done a trial set up tonight on the landing. Do you think this set up looks ok? I am wrapping some of them tomorrow x

Shelley that looks fantastic please let us know how you get on. Are you using cellophane to wrap them? Please post pics of them wrapped, when you get a spare minute!!

Yes I always use cellophane - i've run out of dotty cellophane though and couldn't get any more today so bit gutted have to use plain now but perhaps that might be better cos you can see them more. I don't expect to sell loads but doing it for some fun. Tomorrow is going to be manic got my mum to help out thankfully x:D

thank you for the comments - I love pink so I didnt think it was too much but thought I'd better ask someone elses opinion.
The teddy on the top is holding a comfort blanket not a hat, although I will keep that in mind for my next one.
And yes everytime I go into the spare room I fiddle with it - I just wish my friend would have her baby now so that I can go round and give it to her. 4 days to due date!!!
