Nappy Cakes

Just made another cake - This one is one of the ones for a local shop window. I keep them quite basic as everyones taste is different. This is a 2 tier Bedtime cake.
Not sure if the flowers I added do it any justice, but personally I feel this is one of the better ones I have made.
Any suggestions?Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Here's my two attempts at making nappy cakes, 1 blue and 1 pink ...
Contents:
62 x Pampers Nappies - Size 2
1 x Fleece Blanket
1 x Teddy
1 x Vest
1 x Bib
1 x Dummy
1 x Johnson's Shampoo
1 x Johnson's Bedtime Bath
1 x Johnson's Bath Colonia ...... used here in Spain, so I am told.A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -
Ouch that is a hell of a lot of nappies! How much will you sell them for? You can make the outlay cheaper by rolling the nappies looser and then you won't use as many. They look beautiful though well done
Whats Bath Colonia?
Ignore comment above. Apparently Colonia is colognealthough why a new baby needs cologne I will never know!
Johnson’s Baby Cologne has a gentle, fresh fragrance with a pleasant combination of floral and citrus hints. It leaves your baby smelling clean and fresh. This clinically proven mild formula is alcohol free, making it just right for your baby's delicate skin.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

They use the Lemon sented colonia over here, a deterant for the mozzies biting you.
I decided to use size 2 nappies as they looked more white. Will probably go t size 3 next time though.A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -

:T :T :T They are all stunning!!
I really like the way you've done the flowers Rusty and I like the way you do the sleepsuit on the outside - don't know how you get it to look so neat
I love the Teddy's on yours CandyB101 and the cakes look "delicious" - they must be huge with so many nappies!! Did you knit the Teddy sweater?
The cologne is usually put on the baby's head, all Spanish babies smell wonderful - they do boy and girls cologne, my favourite is "para mi bebe" blue bottle, I like to use it myself but not on my hairI haven't smelt the Johnson's one

The teddy's I got from Toy's R Us, 7.99 euros (ouch a bit steep I know), and sorry no I didnt knit the sweaters, can just about do a wonky scarf lol.
The nappies were only size 2, so it hasnt turned out very big.
The first pack of nappies I bought were really white, hardly no print at all, so this is why I stuck to size 2. The second pack I opened are now coloured with mint and peach ...... just my luck. So next time I will buy size 3, which will hopefully cut down on the amount of nappies.A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -

Crystal they didn't used to be. But now I fold them up and leave the arms loose as the arms are long enough to go around the nappy cake meaning the whole tier of the nappy cake is the same pattern.
The flowers are just small handmade ones I picked up from a craft shop. I picked one of each colour and then trimmed the ends down a little and wrapped florists tape round so they were green not whiteRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
And another blue one .... this time a 3 tier. It was straight, although doesn't look it on the picture so a bit of fiddling tomorrow before wrapping I thinkRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0

:T Very pretty - I like the flowers on this one. What type of blanket is that? Not one of the fluffy ones from Primark?
What I like about these cakes is that each one is unique and they are all nice0
