Hi everyone, Becs well done on the one sale, and without sounding funny at least you got some of your flyers taken which is good business for you!!!
I have made up a cake tonight, not sure if I am happy with it or not to be honest.
I hate all white cakes and the lady requested brown's beiges and creams for the colouring so the best I could do was coloured ribbon.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
thanks rjh090384 and Becs for your answers. Think I'll have to do a bit of reading up. Would rather keep it as a paying hobby(if there is such a thing!) but don't want to get into trouble.
Rusty, your cake looks lovely. I don't like all white cakes either!0 -

I love the brown ribbons. I think when everything else is pale, the brown somehow warms it up (if you know what I mean). I've been looking for some brown florist ribbon myself, I've managed to find some red for my xmas ones in the party shop but no brown. Looks like I'll have to pay postage and order some on line (well, that's if I ever get my leaflets printed and actually have any more orders!!!).
Did you make your own bow .... using florist ribbon?
Need to re-install my printer and skype now!!! If I can find the disks that is!!! This computer lark is going from bad to worse.A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -
Thanks moonpenny
I have emailed her proof pictures so will have to wait and see what she says now. Totalled up the costs of all of the contents and it comes to £29 including cello and ribbons so will charge her £35 for it then postage ontop which she did say she wanted to spend £30-£40 excluding postage.

Thanks CandyThere was a seller on ebay who was selling full rolls of florist ribbon, I will have a look and see if I can find them. They were about £3 for a roll but free delivery so was quite cheap.
The bow on the top I stole your design, then used another piece of florist ribbon to wrap round the middle, then used some of the brown satin ribbon to go over the top of that to give it a burst of colour so to speak but the rest of the bow is florist ribbon.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Well good news ... she loves the cake ... this is the email I have just had from her..Hiya,
Wow, that’s amazing! We both think it’s ace. Anna will love it, and so much stuff in it as well. The kitty is sooo cute.
How much is it? Could you please let me know the costs with the postage and packing? then I can send payment asap.
Thanks so much

The bow looks really effective.
I was really getting quite good at making my own bows (the loopy ones), only trouble was, I couldn't get them to look good when fixed onto the cellofane, and then they'd fall off. Have given up on that now.
The day before I left Spain, I went on a 'pull bow' spending spree, they are not the large bows, but I got a pack of 10 bows for 1 euro, or 1.20 euro .... bargin or wot. Shame they didn't have them in every colour, but my mate is going to keep an eye out for me, incase they have any other colours in.A creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -

Becs - well done on the fayre and I'm sure the orders will come flying in soon.

Hi Becs - Sorry, another question - Are you paying yourself for the time it takes to make a cake, (in your costings for the tax man,) or just your materials - so to speak?0

P.S. good luck for tomorrow!!!
