If all the items come to £25.00 then that's about right to ask for £30.00 to £40.00 for it they say when you make anything you should double it and then add a third on (I don't but some do) you should be making money on it for your time

That would make them very expensive

I normally just add a few quid onto the final price then if it sells it is a bonus. Will probably charge £30 for this one and just make £5 on it ... I just don't know. Haven't been shopping yet anyway going to wait til my auntie is up here and I can take her shopping on mon/tues.

UKS - I thought so. I don't get on much these days, or get much scrapping done, but I use the same name. :)

I really must start on the nappy cake I'm making for H's cousin and his wife - their baby boy is due in a month but is measuring big so could well be early.

  • Love all the beautiful nappy cakes. Am thinking of making one for my step sister when she has my nephew in February.

Just a thought, has anyone added a pampered mummy layer with some nice smellies for mum? Might have a go at that when I do mine.

  • Think I'm going to give up on the nappy cakes I love doing them but they just don't sell:confused: . I will post pictures tommorrow please give me you opinions. It seems such a shame I don't know how some of you get so many orders. Do you advertise alot? It seems so expensive but maybe thats where I'm going wrong.

    Wow!!!! 4 tier @ over £65!!!!
If I was paying that much, I'd be expecting a hell of a lot more quality stuff inside.
I'd be very surprised for someone to be buying at that price, still .... good luck to you if you can make that much profit.

  • Hi, this is my first post on here, but not my first visit! I've just recently made my first nappy cake for a family friends and she loved it ... got all embarrassed about it though lol! Anyhow, I've got the chance of doing a table at a local gym thats got an open evening on Thursday. Any ideas of what I need to be thinking of taking... how many cakes? Should I take some of my handmade birth congrats cards? Leaflets? How much should I charge? Really need help and would be truly grateful of any!
