I think everyone gets at least one insult on them. One of my friends had a nephew / godson a few months ago and I thought this was the perfect chance to get a sale!

I showed him a pic and said it would be a good pressie idea. He spent about 10 minutes saying how ugly it was etc etc etc. Then asked why the hell I had it in my front room? Was I trying to pile it off on him as I didnt want it either??
OH then told him I made it and he went very very quiet.

Thanks Girls I had so many compliments one little comment didn't put me off thankfully. I've got another one today so fingers crossed.
Its a good lesson to learn though school fayres are defo a no no lol!! Thankfully most of the cakes I've made up are sold with orders for December so its not all bad.

Julie I am mortified that there is a blog that would do that. Where is the blog ? Is it on here? That is awful. :mad:

Hi Shelley your stall looks fab, least you made a sale! 1 more than me these last 2 weeks!!! I am awaiting orders to come in, I know of 3 or 4 which said they would come back to me beginning of december so who knows!

When is your next one? was it today or next week?

Hi its a smack blog and its more to do with scrapbooking and as im on a big scrapbooking forum i posted some photos of them and that was that i just laughed it off and told them as long as they sell and i make some money i would keep making them :rotfl:

Thanks Rusty - I've got another one this afternoon in my son's school. Really looking forward to it because I know everyone there so its easier to make sales then.

I find its all or nothing with them though sometimes got a few orders and then a few weeks with none. December will be quiet with Xmas around the corner but I'm sure you will have those orders soon.;)

Julie - good luck with your fayre I'm sure you will do really well. Your gifts are so unique and lovely. Don't post any more pics on there if they are that ignorant. How horrid is that?

I am finding the same with the sales, I am sure it will pick up in the new year. Mind you I am happy as I never expected to sell as many as I already have.

Shelley I think the stall looked fab! As we always say there's no accounting for taste, your cakes are nice and classy! I'm expecting the same at my fayres on sunday and tuesday, I just can't see them being the sort of "impulse" purchase! Possibly the Xmas ones or neutral if theyve got a baby due but think lots of leaflets will be taken and hopefully passed around to generate some interest. My brother is at this very moment tearing his hair out trying to do my brochures, apparantly when it's printed on a laser printer they look very dark. It's really difficult as he is designing it 400 miles away, he hasn't got a laser printer so is emailing it to my Mum's shop where they have a big professional printer/copier and they've been printing it out and posting it to him! He's got some new software he's going to try this afternoon so fingers crossed.

I agree with Shelley and wouldn't post pictures, what a horrible board. I like to think we all offer and can take constructive critiscism on here as an independant opinion is always valuable!

I remember you saying about that guy before! How awful! I've yet to have the complete negatives on my cakes yet but think it's only because i haven't been very exposed yet! I'm sure the next few days will alter this!

I shall be doing my first one starting at 1.30 (nail biting) and i'm yet to cut out and attach the labels for my snowman soup, i need someone here with me to make me cups of tea.

Plus the phone hasn't stopped ringing and i've got another fayre on the 13th :eek:
