Fab cake Shelley, I think I definately prefer the snowman to Father Christmas though, I think my snowman cake is much nicer than my santa one. Santa just looks a bit of an odd shape I think! :rotfl: I was only going to buy the snowman then I thought there's bound to be other people that prefer santa.
Did you use your cube tonight? It's a good pic.
Can Harri not be taught how to roll nappies for you.:rotfl:

Thanks Becs - I love the Santa he is so soft but a little bit chubby I think thats why he is a funny shape. My photo hasn't done him justice I hadn't put him on very straight.
I used the dark blue background for the first time and it is so much better than the white. Will try and stick to it now.
Harri tried helping tonight bless him but ended up running off with my elastic bands and I have been finding them scattered around the house lol :rotfl: :rotfl:
I'm so glad I went to M&S though as I nearly ordered some Reindeer toys - so glad i didn't they were totally not right for a nappy cake - very long dangly magnetic legs!!!!!!
Can't wait to make up the snowman one tomorrow. Ended up buying only 1 snowman as I think most people would go for Santa. Will post some more pics tomorrow xxx
Thanks Julie xLittle Miss Chatterbox

Yep definately agree about the reindeer, I saw him as well but just totally the wrong shape. The snowman is my fave but I think like you there will be lots that prefer santa as more Christmassy. Dh is now asking how we'll get all the cakes in the car for the fayre! We do have an estate car so not sure what he's worried about! :rotfl:
I've done 8 single tier, 4 two tier and 4 3 tier. Not sure whether to take a couple more 3 tier as well. Got to make up boxes of cupcakes as well this week. Have bought JL socks but am having to use an Asda toweling sock in the middle to bulk them out a bit.
The blue background is the one I used, odd how it comes out black though isn't it! I tried the red but my xmas one's got lost in the background. Was it my imagination or did it come with a green one as well? I felt sure it did but can't find it!0 -
Shelley, your Father Christmas cake is gorgeous. I think it's your best one yet! Don't put anything else on, it looks just right and very classy(even though it is Father Christmas)
Glad to hear you got all your toys!!0 -
I didn't have a green one just white, red and blue. I'm glad it comes out black because I hate dark blue so was really pleased with end result.
Wow you have made lots of cakes !!! I found that most people ordered on the day and the 2 tier were definitely not as popular.
This time around I am making bare minimum and taking orders - having decided exactly but thinking about making 2 Xmas ones, one of each colour all 3 tier, 1 2 tier and about 4 cupcakes. This is just to fill the table really.
I honestly dont think I will sell any in school fayre but its worth a go.
Off to bedsville now xxxLittle Miss Chatterbox

im loving your xmas cakes shelly and becs they are both really classy, i am still trying to find an original way to put ribbon around my cakes. Using both your designs for inspiration but trying to find aomething that looks nice without blatently copying hehe0

howdidthishappen, I know Candy does her ribbons the same way becs does, I have to admit I also gave it a try this way but I have only just changed my style of ribbon, I used to just use satin ribbon, now I use florist ribbon then a ribbon over the top like Shelley, I think to be perfectly honest we all make nappy cakes and all change and vary the designs ... If someone gave all of us identical kits and told us to make up a nappy cake using only what was in the kit you can guarentee they would all still be differentRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0
