if its not suitable from Birth I would prefer to label the contents with the toy age suitability to cover myself, I dont mind puting a toy with it thats suitable from 6 months but you cant really include a toy that cant be used for 3 years
These ones I have seen recently have been in the baby section hand have been small new born size baby toys I dont know why I checked the label and was really shocked when it said 36 months,,,, just warning others0 -
I KNOW! i bought cute little cows in primark at £3 so cute obviously baby friendly in baby section and label says not suitable for under 36 months. so i am putting this on my ingfredients label.love you lots like jelly tots0

Thanks RF, got alot more to do yet! All the 2 tier and 3 tier ones and cupcakes. Only doing 1 each of the 2 tiers though.
Limara, all my toys are now suitable from birth. The Christmas ones are from M & S and don't have a minimum age on them but they specifically say on the tags that they are double lined for safety so I guess it does come down to the old saying you really do get what you pay for. I would hazzard a guess that the cheaper toys are not willing to guarantee their safety because the quality is not as good as say m & s when they double line them etc. They manufacture them in a cheaper way meaning they can't 100% guarantee their safety so they raise the age to cover themselves. I'm quite sure that 99.99% of them would be absoloutely fine but I guess if they're not doing a "belts and braces" manufacturing approach they won't take the risk in the nanny state we now live in.

Hmmmm....
One of the earlier cakes I did (which I think I posted on here) was given to one of my neighbours when they had their first (and very eagerly awaited after many misscarriages and even a still birth) child. After the cake was given, lots of support was offered etc etc and them along with 2 other houses in our street have always been close.
Spoke to next door this evening and asked if they could bird sit our parrot as we're away for the weekend. She said it was a shame I was missing the christening of our neighbours, had I booked the holiday before. This was the first I had heard of it but didnt think much as thought it may be a close friend thing and although were mates were not hugely close. Next door then explained that it was in fact a HUGE event and the other house were friendly with had been invited aswell as about 4 other houses (theres only 8!) had been invited. Then after the christening there having a huge party at the local pub with a guest list of over 100.
I know its me being sensative but I feel a little dissapointed that we havent been invited, even to the drinks afterEspecially as we're the only ones out of all of us who regularily have drinks / get togethers together who havent been invited.
Anyway rant over (and I only posted here as it was loosly nappy cake related, lol) and back to cakes!!
But I do have another story about a cake I made for someone in work, anyone want to hear it?Green and White Barmy Army!0 -
Ah Kr15snw,
That is really really bad form! I would feel exactly the same as you. I do really hate it when people behave in an unexpected way and you have no idea why.0 -
Well did a 3 teir blue for a mate in work as her nephews girlfriend was expecting.
Baby was born on friday, so nephew is in the hospital when his girlfriend turns around and tells him its not his baby, their over and she never wants to see him again!
Turns out she had a rough pregnancy so didnt work for most of it and he was made redundant at the beginning. His parents took pity and bought all the cot, pram and other big things as it was their first grand child! Its now all at her house (they didnt live together yet) and he doesnt have a key to get any of it back!
I just cant believe some peolple!!!!
Mate said she obviously hasnt given them the cake, so Ive said Ill buy it back off her if I get a blue order.Green and White Barmy Army!0 -

It must have been devestating for the entire family but far better he finds out now than a few years down the road after a few years of being unaware of it. It does seem a very strange time to suddenly blurt something like that out after she kept it quiet all this time0
