Well it looks fab, but then so do all your cakes. You are definitely someone to aspire to when it comes to these cakes.

    Hi Bellag,

Does look really neat like that. I may have a go at doing my single and 2 tiers like this for the fayre as not putting any clothing in them. Single tiers will just have the blanket and toy and 2 tiers will have blanket, toy and some waitrose toileteries in them. Was worried about pricing but then when I thought about it the full price of blanket, toy and nappies would be appx £20 so ok about it now.

I'm happy with contents of 3 tier now that I bought the outfits from Boots last night, feels much better value now!

    Hi Becs,

Yeh I find you use fewer nappies and its quicker this way so more profit!

You must promise to put your pics up on here when you have done all your posh cakes.
Hows the website going, have you had anytime to spend on it?

Not at all at the moment Bellag, seem to have been so busy doing other things lately. What with working full time, having friends over for meals etc haven't had time to do anything. Need to get my act together though because got 1 fayre on 30th then the posh one on the 2nd dec. Booked the 1st dec off work as well so I had that day to make up more if I needed to but now been told that will have an mri that day! Still waiting for the appointment so no idea whether it's beginning, middle or end of the day, whatever it is though it will interfere with the day so need to get organised! This weekend going to have a big session of making the cakes, once I've got some done I can do some good pics for the website hopefully!
Have to say though I am absoloutely thrilled with the toys, the difference I think they make is incredible. I had a cheapie 3 tier made up which I swapped the asda elephant with peter rabbit and it looks massively more expensive! I posted a pic of that one a few pages ago. Definately worth the money. I averaged out the cost of the toys and they work out at £4.84 each.
Have you got any more fayres coming up? How is your website going, have you had any orders through it yet?

    Hi JulieH,

I think only you can decide if you mind. I would say she obviously wants to copy. Personally it would only bother me if it were going to be direct competition. As I don't sell on ebay anymore it would only be if there was someone really local to me copying that would bother me. As you say there are loads of people doing virtually identical stuff not just on ebay but everywhere, I guess you have to sell your own stuff on it's own merits.
We do all get ideas off each other and develop them in our own way. I've seen your items Julie and thought they are great and different and haven't dared to copy because alot of your items are unique (although have been tempted by the lollipops!:rotfl: )so it would be blatantly obvious that I'd copied.

Don't know if these have been mentioned before ( I did try and search), but in Primark they have 2 mini snuggle blankets, sort of a stuffed bear head and the body is mini blanket, the bear one is beige the other is a pink rabbit, both lovely and soft. £2.50 -(I think)

    Thanks Julie,

I need another small priced item for the fayre, going to do the cupcakes but wanted something else. I think I might have a go at the lollipops using a bib, hoping it works because it kind of makes sense to me, a bib and a weaning spoon!

    Bellag,

I've tried the swirling today, it's definately alot quicker although mine don't look as neat as yours. Managed to make up 4 single tiers this evening though. We were busy clearing out the garage today as our village does a bulky collection service twice a year and we've got one on monday. DH thinks I am ever the optimist that one day we will get a car in it! Anyway so we have been busy doing that today so it's nappy cake making tomorrow. Aiming to get all my single and 2 tiers done although not wrapped tomorrow. That will leave me the cupcakes and 8 three tiers to do in the next 2 weeks.
