Hmmm really starting to hate my Asda. No hooded towels, no frilly socks, no bibs (other than white). Im really missing out!!!
BUT, am going to Bluewater in november (few days away with oh) so does anyone know of a SUPER sized asda round there? Or at least does anyone live in that area and can reccomend good supplies shops?
Bellag and Becs, how much do you charge for your cakes? Im trying to work out a set price for different sizes and how to make more profit!Green and White Barmy Army!0 -
Hi Bellag,
Was hoping you'd say that as we registered becsbabycakes.co.uk today! I used to call them nappy cakes but as you say everyone was a bit offput until explanation! Then everyone else around me started asking about my "baby cakes " and I thought sounded good, so Becs Baby Cakes (don't think I'd get away with BBC) was decided. Been trying to designa logo for the past week.
I LOVE the idea of the cupcake stand! Fab idea.
The sign looked great in your photo, I need to order my new toys and get making then I can get some photos for brochures and sign. I want to do a tri-fold brochure with photos so people can take them away. Think it's nice to have something like that so people can see a photo and remind them or to show others that didn't see them. Also want to have my website up and running by the fayre as well so going to be a very busy few weeks!
Thanks for the vote on the boxes, I've refined the bows on them as well and done a sort of contemporary flat, squarish bow if you know what I mean. Looks a bit classier as well hopefully.0 -
Hi Kr15snw,
I have struggled with pricing big time! Up until now I have charged £33 for my three tier cakes, £15 for single tier and £7.50 for cupcakes (way too cheap in comparison!).
For my posh fair I'll be charging £12.50 for the cupcakes but costs on these will be around £6-£7 and 15% of everything I sell will be going to the hospice. Single Tier will be £25, Two tier £40 and Three tier £65. This is why I have got to use best quality of everything and only buy from the kind of places these customers will be buying from themselves. It sounds alot (and it is I know!) but I need to bear in mind that £9.75 of each of the three tiers will be going to the hospice which is great.

Hi all,
just have to say Bellag your cakes are beautiful, what do you include in you mini cakes?
Also thought i'd let you all in on my lil secret wholsaler (you may already know then) www.angelwholesale.co.uk they do some lovely stuff and they also do a starter box for £99 includes mixed colours and items, you dont know what your getting but you get 50 items so they work out at 1.98 each they also sell these boxes on ebay (if you want to use paypal)

Hi Kr15snw,
It all depend on what you put in your cakes i suppose. My three tiers are costing me around 20-25 to make so I charge 34.99, two tier 28.99, single tier 22.99.
uptomyeyes- my mini cakes have 8 pampers nappies, feeding cloth, bib, pair of booties, two pairs of socks made into rose buds, leaves, organza ribbon, cello, more ribbon etc. I charged £14.99 fro those and they were very popular little gifts!0 -

hi guys, just spent the last 10 minutes writing a long message and lost it!! So this will be short as the battery is going to go in the laptop!!! Loving all your work, very talented people!!! Dont know if any of you have seen the new asda direct website, you can order baby items etc from there, a lot is out of stock or N/A, but may help some of you out. Postage is £3.95 per order though.0

Wow !!!! Bellag. What a fantastic stall and your cakes are gorgeous. You should be well proud!
Becs – I don’t think your cakes are expensive. Like you said , you are using quality goods and have got more expenses than usual. Hope you do well!!!!
Lynsiloo – Have the same problem myself losing my posts. Now I write them in “word “ first. It’s a pain but at least I don’t lose them.0 -

Hi Kr15snw,
There is an Asda Living in Dartford (which isn't far from Bluewater) They only sell clothes and homeware (no food) I absolutely love the place + its next to Matalan in Dartford. Its called Prospect Place
