Hello everybody, gosh its been ages since i posted anything gon here as I've been busy with family stuff and getting ready for my first fair.

Well the fair was quite good- i had no idea what to expect but sold 5 cakes and got orders for 5 more- one for twin boys so i'm well chuffed!:j

Shelley you were right about not getting chance to do anything else as i was situated right next to the entrance and exit everybody came over and about 150 cards went too! I've been asked to do another 4 fairs around posh areas in Cheshire too which could be good!

My best sellers were my mini cakes and 3 tiers like you said Shelley lol!

Just wanted to say a great big thankyou to all of you that helped me prepare!

Becs- Glad to see you have made good progress with your posh do- nut brown hair definately a good choice- maybe put a copy of the book in the front too so people know who the hare is? Think I may have seen this done somewhere??

Shelley- love your cake- they are always so professionally done!

    Bellag,

The cakes look fantastic! Wish mine looked that good, I always think mine look very plain not as artistic as yours. They looked amazing. Loved the socks roses too especially on the pink one, were they 2 tone socks or is that just the light? Your sign looks fab too, I need to get one done for my posh fair. Did you get it done by the same guy that did Shelley's? Another question for you as well, I had called myself Bec's Baby Cakes and I notice you're Bella's Baby Cakes, you don't have a problem with that do you it's just I know some get very touchy about copying.

A question for everyone regarding my cupcakes pictured below. Some people have suggested changing the box to a clear box so people can see the contents. I'm in 2 minds about it, can see why they're saying that but the other part of me says they're meant to be cakes so a cake box seems more appropriate. What does everyone else think?

Thanks Becs its always lovely to get compliments. Your cakes are absolutely gorgeous- not at all plain! Like you said before everyone has their own style and designs and tastes and thats what makes this stay interesting and challenging. I keep changing my mind as to how to put them together and have still not settled on any particular design.

There is actually an Australian website called 'bellababycakes' but seen as my name is actually Bella (not shortened Isabella) I thought it was only fair that i nabbed bellasbabycakes! he he. Calling your site Bec's baby cakes is hardly copying hun and besides all our cakes are so different from each others there will be little competition!

I used two tone socks- think they were stripey from matalan with a frilly edges.

I prefer as you may do to call them baby cakes rather than nappy cakes. I dont know about you but 'nappy cakes' conjures up images of pooey nappies and I have several of those to contend with everyday as it is!

Yes the sign was done bythe same guy as Shelley's but it only arrived a the day before the fair (5 days after ordering it) and the edges werent stuck down flat and they were a creases so I'm going to see if he will send me another. He was very reasonable (£23.98) and helpful as he sent me about 5 different proofs before I said print.

I think I prefer cupcakes in a cardboard box as its a lovely surprise to open the box and see them and they will be more cake like too. Maybe for your posh fair you could have loads of individual ones on a cupcake stand and people can choose which ones and how many they would like in a box, as well as your boxed up ones? Just an idea- hope i'm not being helpful when i'm not needed :o
