I'll take that as a compliment! :rotfl: Some of the Doudou ones are a bit weird though!
I've got to look for ribbons now as well! hhmm!
Just had a bit of a result though, planned on using John Lewis fleece pram blankets which were £9. Just had a look on the website and they're reduced to £6 only problem is they'd run out of blue! May pop in tomorrow and see if they have any in the shop!
Dh is now completely freaking out at the outlay for this fayre! It had seriously better be good! Have worked out if I sell out (which I very much doubt) then will make £500 profit which might keep him quiet!0 -
Hi there...great pics again, shelley your cakes are lovely..as always. Becs i'd be panicking as well if I were you but i'm sure it will work out fine...a £500 profit ...now that would make it all worth while!!! I'm sure you'll do it!!0

i've been rolling nappies all night while watching the X factor...then made up 5 little cup cakes, just need to wrap them now ready for a fair i am going to in November...its in a local church hall that has a good reputation for holding craft fairs..this one is a fair that will only be selling childrens stuff so I am taking the big cakes and the cup cakes, thought I might make up some reindeer flannels as well and some flannel cakes with a xmas theme.0

Becs – I live in the next village to where the creator of Paddington lived. ( She is in fact the mother of Jeremy Clarkson!) Not that it has anything to do with anything! LOL – rambling again!
Anyway, I agree with Shelley, but then again, girls had Paddingtons as well as boys. I think the problem is more to do with the strong colour, as the other toys you have picked are more pastel. Are you using the same design as your other cakes?
Anyway, Keep rolling!!!!
Shelley, love your new cakes. Especially the pink one!
Iv’e been trying to make a 2 tier and I just can’t get it right! Not sure what to put inside or leave out that is different to 3 tier so I thought I would change the design but it’s not working. AAARRRRHHHH!!!!0 -
Decided to add where I buy things....Nappies: 14p each (use about 30 in a cake) Pampers from cash and carry, but do normally use Sainsbury / Tesco own
Base board: 50p each (1 a cake) This is from bag and box man, worked out that postage is £2.50 so this is with me buying 10 bases including postage
Booties: £1.50 each (1 a cake) Got this price wrong its £1.50! Asda
Baby Bath: 84p each (2 a cake) Cash and Cary
Wine: £3.33 each (1 a cake) Cash and Cary
Suits: 71p each (2 a cake) Pack of 7 from Asda
Socks: 50p a pair (3 pairs a cake) Pack of 3 from asda
Muslin Cloth: £1.17 each (1 a cake) Pack of 3 from asda
Baby Towel: Allowing £3.50 a cake although I havent found any yet
Toy: Allowing £3 a cake but again havent found any!!
So I worked out each cake costs me.... £25.52 and Im charging £30
Anyone got any tips on how I can make things cheaper? As obviously this doesnt include wrapping costs!!
Am thinking of popping down sainsburys today to see what I can find in regards to toys as havent really checked them out. Have found some lovely mini toys for £1 at asda which are good for my 2 teir cakes. Just like somthing a bit bigger for the 3 teir
Someone mentioned they had bought muslins off ebay? I know the seller you mean, are they actually any good?Green and White Barmy Army!0 -
Thanks everyone, I've decided on Nut Brown Hare I think for the unisex ones.
Yes I am doing the same design as usually do with a little bit of tweaking I think. I like to keep them simple and does make it alot easier to make them up.
