I don;t actually know anyone expecting. We (my husband) bought the wrong size nappies this morning and since he had opened them we couldn't take them back and i've been meaning to try one of these cakes for ages anyway :D

How do you keep the nappies etc on the cake board?

    Thanks Rusty,

I know very lucky with Mum, she comes in handy bless her just a shame she's not closer! The Ebay couriers I'd looked at are normal DHL so standard terms and cost was about £7 I think. The ebayer had very good feedback so looks ok.

Paying out up front isn't a problem-well not counting persuading DH that is! It's just I hate the thought of buying so much stuff up front without guaranteed orders-typical Capricorn! :rotfl: I usually buy the johnson's stuff from the pound shop or boots. Boots do the smaller bottles for 99p and doesn't matter to me what size they are as I'm not using them! Boots Xmas shopping evenings start next week so I may pop along to that and gain loads of advantage card points!

Charging extra for the posh one is definately not an issue at all, I usually charge between £33-£35 for 3 tier ones but have been reliably informed that for this particular fayre it would be way too cheap. They should be more like £65-£70 hence my need to put more expensive items in them. I'm desperate to use the swaddle designs blankets as so different to anything else in Nappy cakes they'd really stand out - plus would be a real selling point that one of teh few UK stockists is Harrods! Just can't justify the minimum order value. I've said to Hubby I may buy a couple at full retail price and see how they sell. If they generate alot of interest may be able to consider it.

Bravobeastie very neat job! Go for it! It is surprisingly easy isn't it when you get started but be careful it's very addictive!

I use boards that are exactly the same size as the diameter of the cake so when I wrap blanket around the bottom layer the board sits into the cake as such but I know others just use a bit of double sided tape. When you wrap the cake in cellophane it holds it all securely anyway.

Hi Becs, yes I went to a cash and carry last week!

Johnsons products very good. Baby oil, shampoo and bath was about £4.50 - £5.00 for 6 bottles. Now this sells for between £1.70-£2.00 at my local shops.

Nappies no real difference. They were £5.00 for a normal pack of pampers and to be honest I tend to buy tesco / sainsburys own make as I can get these for about £3.50 a pack and have had good reports on them from mums I know :)

My cash and carry also sells bottles and soothers dirt cheap, but I didnt pick any up so must do next time!!

I can vouch for tesco's nappies. They are great, although I have to now use activefit on my little one as she is a funny shape and all other nappies either dig into the tops of her legs (even if correct size) or the elastic on the straps is too short so they don't go round her waist!

Thats the same price that asda sometimes stocks them at. Mainly when they do their baby week but the bigger asdas sometimes always have these in stock.
