Nappy Cakes

Hi Kelly,
I send mine in a double walled cardboard box, think Rusty posted the link on here a while ago for boxes and they're definately the cheapest I've seen. I pack the cake inside the box with the polystyrene worms. Have so far only used Fed Ex but all have arrived perfectly.

Thanx for that. I do already have a great local courier that i use for all my ebay items. i'll have to see if i can find rusty's post about the boxes that could be handy, otherwise i'll just bring some home from work.

Becs can I ask what fed ex are like charges wise?
I haven't tried using the worms, where do you get yours from? I normally use air pockets but these can sometimes be really expensive!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

If you have a Costco or other cash n carry type place they are always getting rid of double wall boxes for free! I have got loads from there and my garage if full of them lol!

Hi Rusty,
Truth be told I've not paid anything for the Fed Ex as sent through my Mum's shop so she didn't charge me, however as she lives 35 miles away it wasn't very practical taking them down to her to post! So decided any I post in future will do through a courier from Ebay as seem the cheapest. Same goes for the worms, she ordered the most enormous bag of them for me and again didn't charge me.
I'm having a real dilema now as have agreed to do the really posh fayre as think that will be a good one for me, but have been told will need to take about 30-40 items so am going to have to outlay alot in stock. I've also been asked if I want to do another Christmas fayre 2 days before. The earlier one will be fine with my usual items using Asda and the like so not too worried about that but the thought of doing both is scaring me as will be a big outlay! Can't decide whther to go for it and just do both, I guess even if don't sell much will sell them eventually!

Hi everyone,
with reference to my previous post, has anyone bought any items such as nappies or Johnsons products from a cash and carry? If so are they much cheaper?

As for the christmas fayre, would it be possible to add an extra couple of £'s onto your prices there to try and get in a little more money for the posh one? Alternatively do you have a 0% interest credit card where if you clear the balance when they send through the statement? I hate having to outlay before hand however for things like this it is the only way! Personally if it was me then I would do both, as any sales/flyers/word of mouth is good for your business!Hi everyone,

I personally have never bought from cash and carrys however I believe by the time you add on VAT etc then they work out only a small amount cheaper. Most pound shops have some johnsons items and I always stock up from sainsburys when they do their 50% baby items sale. Also I always shop around everywhere online to find out who has the best deals on the nappies etc but always work my pricing on the nappies being 11p each even if I find them for 8 or 9p each.
Hope this helps.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Hi everyone. This is my first ever attempt at a nappy cake. The blankets are just ones i had in the airing cupboard and the teddy is my daughters, i know its not sellable quality but wanted to make sure i had the basics.
All honest opinions and suggestions would be welcomed....0
