Karin, I put my nappy cake photos in the hamper thread :) Feels its all the same really!

Right off to Primark tomorrow, what should I look out for? Did I hear correctly their blankets are the best? I tend to get my clothes from Asda, but are they cheaper in Primark?

You certainly did hear right! Blankets from primark are the best ones I have ever had in the 6 years of having children!!! They wash so much better than fleece blankets and never loose their fluffyness!
They do blue, pink and yellow (the yellow one is fairly new) they also occasionally have a yellow one with blue and pink lines but I am not keen on this one.

    Thanks for the kind comments.

    Chatty fantastic! Well done :)

Bella! Oh my life! That is sooooo perfect!!! that looks amazing!

for the gift card its just plain white card and i bought the transfers that come on a sheet for card making and you rub them on.
i always make my own gift card, sometimes i cover a piece of card from baby wrapping paper, or even cut up a birthday card etc. whatever i see with the suitable images on.
my eyes rotate 100 degrees when i'm out in town.lol

    that cake is gorgeous.

thanks Chatty lol! - will do soon as i get some dotty cellophane. Its in the post.

Now what do you all think should i wrap all my cakes for the fair or leave them unwrapped and wrap them if they want it wrapped. Also should i just take samples of my cakes and then just take orders for free delivery as long as its local? ...dunno never done a craft fair before..anybody any ideas? I know Shelley does them. I may not even sell anything but will be good for advertising I guess. I'm so excited but havent a clue- I've never really been to a fair apart from a school fair!

  • Personally i like to see them wrapped. makes them look much more professional.
More importantly from experience it also helps to keep them clean as most people look with their hands IYKWIM

Thats a good point Chatty about the cleanliness etc and they may get dirty especially the xmas cake with white blanket.

Bellag your Christmas nappy cake is fabulous:T:T:T:T
I'm going to do some Christmassy ones but haven't bought any stuff yet. I would definitely wrap the ones you are going to sell beforehand because you just won't have the time on the day. I displayed 3 unwrapped for people to see and then wrapped some for selling but I also took orders on the day.
Chatty - your cake is fab too :T

    Rusty...

How much are the blankets in Primark? I normally end up paying about £3.50 - £4.50 for them at Matalan / Asda.

Any other tips? Think we need a list compiled!

So far we know the best blankets come from Primark.
What about the others though, like toys, nappies, clothes etc?

Personally I LOVE the muslim cloths and packs of baby sleeping suits from Asda. Such good value :)
