Hi Vinakanailavo, Well done you!!! Your cake is lovely. I’m sure your friend will love it.

Candyb – Florist ribbon around the tiers, then fabric ribbons. The white satin, I got cheap on the market for 50p and the pink is gingham. I just love gingham and spotty ribbons. Come to think of it, I might start using florist ribbon instead of fabric for the “second” colour if I just want plain. Thanks Candyb – wouldn’t have thought of that if you hadn’t asked. I find it’s the ribbons and wrapping etc that bump up the price.

Kizzyw, I just love your christening basket. Your “mini”cake looks really sweet. Have you put flowers on top? Can I ask you where you got your doggy blanket from?
    Looks very cute!!!

Hi Moonpenny, the florist ribbon is a good idea, although I tried this once before and found it didn't look as good as having a satin ribbon around if that makes sense?
You can buy the rolls of ribbon normally in 20-25 metre rolls for £3-£4 which works out a lot cheaper than buying it by the metre.

Kizzy the christening hamper looks fab! Well done, love the mini cake. I sell quite a few of these myself locally. here are a couple of mine.

  • Just a quick thought. Do you think that we could set up a new thread for Nappy Cakes photos only? Like the hamper one on here? It might give us all a few ideas and we would all know where to look for inspiration. Just a thought??
