Clocked another NSD so I'm at 12/12! Feeling pretty pleased with myself to be honest!

This month has been hard financially- I'm hoping July will be better!

I finished work early today so im grateful for that - and the new 'rule' in the house the OH has agreed to. I'm fed up of cooking dinner and then making lunches all the time so we have agreed on a new rule - whoever cooks dinner one night the other person has to make lunches for the next day. Sometimes throwing a tantrum gets results!!!

Had my music lesson today, then off to the gym for my monthly personal training session. My music lesson is budgeted for, the PT is not, so a spend day.
Trainer said she could see a little difference in my face, so I think my weight loss is starting to make a difference :) My exercise goal for the week has already been met, but I'm planning a run tomorrow if the rain will hold off.

NSD 14 today. I am much better at this toward the end of the month than the start. Having said that, I have today, for the first time ever, forgot to pick up one of the kids from an after school club. I got there 40 minutes late and he was just stood outside the gate waiting for me - he is nearly 15 so not a major panic, but I feel like the worst mum EVER and he finally understands why he needs to keep his phone charged.

Today I am grateful for compliant y9s, for getting some important paperwork done, for chasing something up, for getting some non-important paperwork done before it becomes important, for a speedy journey home, for dd still enjoying her 'new' class, for time to ponder next month, for emails with big sis, for a quiet evening, for 85% chocolate.

As we're almost at the end of the month, I want to update all my totals as I probably won't get a chance tomorrow as I'm getting everything ready for holiday. Today was a NSD and a healthy day so am pleased with that.

    - 15 NSD's minimum - got 16 in the end
    - 20 'healthy days' where I exercise and eat well - managed 21.
    - Stick to the budget!! - I'm on what I call a 'spending fast' this month i.e. other than planned spends and bills/normal expenditure, I don't want to spend a thing! I know realistically I will spend something, so I am allowing myself 3 'freebies' i.e. 3 occasions where I can buy something which isn't planned for - be that food, a gift, alcohol, whatever. I have a spreadsheet where I enter my budget and it's definitely doable. This also links in with rejecting consumerism I suppose! - hmmm I had 4 unallocated spends this month! Will try again next month!
    - Exercise for an hour twice a week on top of the three 20 minute sessions outlined in the original post - achieved.
    - Add whatever is left at the end of the month to my 365 challenge pot - there was nothing after paying for holiday bits! It was a really tight month anyway so not too disappointed.
    - Use up old vouchers - I realised that when I moved last year I didn't update my t3sco clubcard address, so I've just done that this morning and found I have £25 worth of vouchers to use! I put £5 of that towards today's shopping delivery, and will use the rest up throughout the month - achieved.

    See you all in July!

Is the final day of the challenge before we decamp to Joyful July with motherned. Thank you one and all for coming along with me for the month.

Do spend a little time reflecting on the month that is ending - the good and not-so-good, the highs and lows, but most of all, look at what you have achieved, what you have learned about yourself, your habits.

    Good morning,

    thanks for running July mothernerd.

Done my numbers and paid my dues as it was pay day today. I also did a balance transfer to a 0% card with £0 fees (all our recent vet bills were on a normal card and I want to avoid paying interest while we're waiting for the insurance to pay out). I paid a fair bit to the debt and will be stricter this month as our debt is higher just now due to vet bills.

DH is away just now and I nearly did the weekly shop yesterday when I was off. But didn't. First of all I hadn't been paid yet. Secondly, why not make the most of the fact that DH is away and me and the kids can eat differently and use up weird and wonderful things more easily. Also realised I still had 3 lunches for me in the freezer. So I will revise my shopping list and go on Sunday, hopefully on my own. Good end to a bad month.

Was very tired yesterday despite sleeping well. Cumulative effect of a busy week, will need to strive for more balance - no appointments next week luckily.

Buddy had warned me he would be a little late so I had a little snooze (also told a counsellor and new woman about our concerns for our fellow craft participant) and read my book. Session with buddy was interesting. he asked me whether I was a winner or a loser and I chose loser (sorry).

He kept asking what I was and I managed 'nice person', upgraded to 'lovely person', tried 'we are all winners' then tried to explain that 'winner' implied that there was also a 'loser' and that I would prefer to be the 'loser' if the cost of my winning was to force someone else to be a 'loser'.

Obviously need to work on the language I use to describe myself but also try to convince buddy that belief alone is not enough, you need to do all the work (learning new skills, practicing, accepting change and being prepared to change yourself) to get from where you are to where you want to be. Have added phoning the CBT people back onto my list.

Went home for a bit then picked up some things mum had mentioned needing. Walked there - also walked to earlier meeting and made sandwiches to take. 3 small victories as I really wasn't in the mood.

Made tea for mum and me (there was a sandwich left over for her supper as I made too much) and pinned up the other set of curtains that need altering - back was aching too much to sit sewing them and they will need washing so may go back today or leave until Monday. Decide not to bring them home - learning to set limits, very important.

Laptop is playing up but it has just done a repair on itself. Don't panic if I disappear briefly, I will get to you somehow (library/ old laptop/ borrow DS3's when he's asleep). Spent money yesterday - I have spent money most days, but then think through and it was allsomeone else's money (mostly mum's).

For yesterday, I am grateful for time spent with mum, for starting a job even though I couldn't do it all and for time with my super positive Buddy.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
