Yesterday (Tuesday). Renewed library books (some due back today and some on Monday, when they are closed), booked taxi for today, sent off for a travel voucher application for mum (instead of her bus pass, as she cannot use buses), booked a bulky waste collection and did my tax return (not yet filed as internet connection went dodgy).
Up at the crack of dawn Wednesday (wasn't really but felt like it, especially when I was lying there failing to sleep and telling myself I only had 5 then 4 hours left to sleep). Off to mum's then to the infirmary for her foot appointment. Another taxi to her dentist to sort a money muddle and book appointments. Taxi girl laughed at me packing in appointments.
Crossed the road to Icyland. Mum didn't want much - £67 later. Mum held onto the trolley but I asked if she could sit on some of the crates whilst I put the stuff through the checkout - they gave her one of the checkout chairs.
Taxi back to mum's where I put food away, brought the bins in, fed us both and made a sandwich for her tea, did a bit of sewing then phoned for another taxi (at which point the switchboard woman asked if I ever sat down) to take me to crafts.
Someone had obviously spoken to the new 'leader' as she backtracked and said people could work on finishing last week's project. I said a bit about the help some people need and she was much more hands on as she helped the blind girl to make some cards - I had asked if she had any birthdays coming up. I helped another couple of people and two more borrowed bits from my sewing kit (I took 3 pairs of scissors and they were all in use - they have safety scissors but they are no use for fine cutting or poking holes through things).
Two of us expressed concern about one of the other participants - she said she was just tired but I will mention it to my cousellor tomorrow as the girl has previously gone off her medications and she really can't do that - one of the counsellors will contact her care worker and they will check.
Walked back home and was so grateful for the tuna buns I made yesterday and put in my bag this morning. had a little nap and then wrote the July thread. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Another NSD - quite pleased with those this month,
Mothernerd- You are a marvel. I just don't know how you manage to do so much. Thanks for the July challenge.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Thanks for July. I've signed up.
Fingers crossed - had a phone interview for 5 weeks with a large firm last night. Would be great for my confidence, and the bank balance which has taken a hefty hit in the past month. Shame the NSD's haven't had an equivalent rise.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -

Yay. Work for a few weeks, although not until 10th or 17th (IT needs time to set me up:D)
But really encouraging.
And HMRC have processed my return so I should be getting a nice fat refund in the next week.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -

Really wet here today so I stayed in and did more housework. Another NSD.
C finally went to the doctor with a long standing skin complaint which has become very extensive. As I predicted doctor said anxiety and stress were the main cause of the outbreak (it is really bad). I'm so glad he went. He said the doctor was lovely and got him to talk about how difficult things have been over the last 18 months or so. Maybe acknowledging this to someone other than me might help both the condition and his mood (he has been very down at times). Hope so.
End of month tomorrow. Haven't done too well apart from NSDs this month. Off the plan July.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
