I get the impression malkie would argue black was white rather than admit he was wrong.

    What a numpty.

The challenge is open to you to provide a counter argument ?
Or are you only capable of insulting people on the internet ?

So you'd take your chances without a card ? Your choice, but potentially a very costly mistake.
    That's plain silly.

The original post is advising people that the 'proper' website where you can get a card without charge is down.
At the same time MSE are warning people not to use a 'shyster' website.
Something that you appear to be recommending.

Your third party that provides this 'valuable service' cannot magic a EHIC - regardless of how much it charges - when the NHS website is down.
You yourself are trumpeting that they offer a 'check and send' service.
Where are they going to send someone's application when the system is down? :rotfl:

The website being down doesn't affect me.
My card has an expiry date of 2021.
No prizes for guessing which website I used to get my card.
Or which website I used to renew it.

It's not silly. The third party upload your information as soon as the website is available again. This is of value if by that time you are already on holiday with no internet access.

    It's pretty simple.

Can you let us know which shyster website you suggest that we use for best value?

    Hmmm.
Seems at least one more person think the website you mentioned in post #21 is a 'shyster' website:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5577453

And here's another warning from MSE not to use 'paid-for ehic sites:

    MSE warning
We have been warning consumers for years not to use a paid-for EHIC website, whether to apply for a card or renew it. The cards are issued free by the Government.
Site founder Martin Lewis appeared on ITV's Daybreak and BBC Radio 5 Live this week to reiterate the message.

Martin Lewis, MoneySavingExpert.com creator, says: "Everyone needs to remember EHICs are totally FREE to get or renew.

"Never pay for them. Sadly, Google is dangerous with these sites as lots of legit but morally-dubious sites dress themselves up to charge you without any merit. Don't waste your cash."

I think all of us will give up at this point, and keep the several hundred pounds that we've cumulatively saved by not following your advice.

We'll just to have suck up the additional effort of inputting information into the free site directly, rather than uploading to a third party website the exact same information, but we're hardy and resourceful souls.

How could they be considered disreputable if they provide a service which provides a solution to a problem ?
