Why was the expensive vinegar in the shop in the first place ?

I can just see my local chippy giving free chips if you buy a splash of vinegar - perhaps a business opportunity in the [STRIKE]more money than sense[/STRIKE] trendier parts of London, after all they do have crisp restaurants.

Why would you not think that Ocado would have expensive vinegar on their list? They're not exactly Poundland are they?

I must admit that I get so annoyed when I see people get away with this stuff.
I actually can't believe that Ocado were so spineless.
You do know that the delivery driver will get into trouble for this don't you? and they earn peanuts.

I post in a consumer forum to get help because I was mislead, then bizarrely some people take an instant, unsubstantiated position that something underhand has happened. It's like stepping into a church and someone pointing and screaming 'the devil!'. Do you want to re-read what you just wrote maisie and try to explain why you've taken such a definitive, all-knowing position? This is just bizarre.

If I was to copy that behavior then I might say every single negative comment in the whole forum is done by companies wanting to undermine consumers. And while I'm saying it I'll point to individuals and make a scary screeching noise like out of The Body Snatchers.

Ah, yes, I get what you mean now. It is a good question, either the OP made a mistake when selecting the items in the order or Ocado picked the wrong thing when making it up. It might help the situation if we knew which it was.

I said why in post 6...

Some replies seem random now, including the ones that declare 'you've probably been flagged' and 'you are spineless'.

It's like I've stepped into the twilight zone.

Sorry, I'd missed that. So you did order it, in which case you should definitely have refused to accept it having changed your mind, but having accepted it and then used it you should have expected to be charged. The driver was probably wrong to say that you'd get it for free, but you were more wrong for putting him in that position when you could, and should, have simply declined to take it as part of the delivery.

I thought he was representing the company so didn't think anything wrong had happened, and a company is responsible for their own workforce. If I had to get people to put things in writing every time they actioned something I would probably be found with cobwebs.
