Clerkenwell & Shoreditch (AFAIK, a very busy amalgamated court, covering a wide area) must be getting almost as fed up of PPC trashy claims, as Manchester and Skipton courts are already!

Well done kayjones83, good going to see this through, especially as perhaps you might have been anticipating a discontinuance from CEL rather than them, unusually, rocking up at court. :T.

I am amazed those fools didnt discontinue it, but even better that they lost as it might deter them further if they lost all the rare ones they take to court

made my day as well as yours (and all the regulars here I am sure too)

    well done to you :)
  • @coupon-mad I could see Judge Thomas had probably had enough of these cases

@umlomas thank you ! I was indeed anticipating a discontinuance but at the same time I’m grateful for the experience - having won and all.

@Redx I am surprised my self ... I’m not entirely sure what they were expecting having received my WS.

    Thanks again!

I predict a discontinuance next week!

You'll all note that CEL did not discontinue and there are / have been more CEL cases going all the way. Typically it will be where there are other Elms Legal cases as it appears they are now the go to for those looking for a cheap and cheerless legal rep.

    Tactics like templates need checking.

  • I’m probably not supposed to post this here, but I can see people are recently replying on this one so I’ll just try it. Apologies if I annoy anyone.
All these forums I’ve read so far are when they have been unfairly fined because they have done nothing wrong.
I received a fine because I parked for too long in a car park. I am in the wrong. But I believed that I wasn’t supposed to pay it because they didn’t legally have the right to chase me for it.
Now I’m seeing that they are taking people to court, which I’ve been under the impression they couldn’t, and I have no argument because I genuinely made a mistake and thought the parking limit was longer.
Now I’ve got an email to say I’ve made an inquiry with trust deed scotland, which I did not do. I can see myself having to pay this ridiculously high fine now, when I could have paid £30...
Can anyone advise me on what they think?

Are you in Scotland? If so please read the FAQs in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #1 which give precise information about dealing with a parking ticket issued in Scotland.

If it's not Scotland, and after having read the FAQs and you need further help, please open a new thread of your own - no further posts on this one.
