Have you looked into doing courses with the open university. They offer financial support so you would most likely get the courses paid for you!I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -

If it's just CLAIT and not CLAIT Plus (which is next level) and ECDL is fairly recent (say within last four years), then I would not think it worth doing CLAIT which is simpler than ECDL.
However, if you want to have something fresh on your CV - or to show competence with a new version of an application, then doing CLAIT for free might be a good idea.0 -
I've just seen an "Initial Advice and Guidance Assessment" form which, immediately about the signature section has "Pleasse note that if you withdraw or are withdrawn from this course you may incur charges, a minimum of £65 dependant on stage/time of withdrawal".
I have noted the use of the words "may" and "minimum". Perhaps the "may" is because they won't actually do this. Given that no other figure is given, then I think £65 has to be a maximum - otherwise it becomes unlimited and totally unacceptable.0 -
I just got on my course too !!! Thank you very much :0)0

I just applied and got a course in Healthy Eating. It was the only course available today for my area so I applied anyway. It seems really good actually, as I suffered from a form of anorexia when I was younger.
Can't wait!
Oh, and if you apply for a course and it's not available they'll recommend courses that are available in your area.Foreign politicians often zing stereotypical tunes, mayday, mayday, Venezuela, neck
