Hi,
I recently registered to to ITQ Level 2 with Vision2Learn. My login details has cam through. I Require some advice from people who has already started or completed the ITQ course.
1. What evidence do they require to fulfill the requirement?
I currently work as Admin Officer and use computers as part of my job. There is a unit "Operate a Computer" which talks about installing computers, hardwares, devices etc. What do they accept as an evidence?
Thanks

Shame, looked promising as i'd love to gain extra qualifications whilst out of work. But alas i live in Wales and they have no centres here. Ironically though they could offer me some PAID courses
Who would have thought
Thanks though to original OP, it was worth a try.
Anyone know of any similar courses for people unemployed, living in Wales but not in receipt of working tax credits ?A male chef of 4. My restaurant is always full and i don't need to tout for business.
OK OK I'm a house husband but it did sound better my way :beer:0 -
I am currently coming to the end of the telematics vision2learn course covering basic html and web page building, i tried several times to get a course and eventually struck lucky. As i am a stay at home mum I couldn't do the employed ones so this was great but apparently this course is being withdrawn in June.We love what we are doing and we love why we're doing it!!0

I'm sure ITQ courses are available for people out of work:- The following is taken from Vision2Learn website:-
Essential IT Skills @ Work leads to an Information Technology Qualification (iTQ). iTQ is the new National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) for IT Users and is designed to demonstrate your competence in using IT where you work, or during your search for work if you are unemployed.

The iTQ is an NVQ and therefore you should have an assessor assigned to you who can visit your place of work. You can then show them that you can do things, get written statements from people that you work with, and write up notes of what you do.0 -
Does anyone know how long it takes for someone at V2L to get in touch? I applied just over a week ago but as yet haven't heard anything. Maybe it's me and I need to be more patient-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

I used to work in a college and run the vision2learn courses, people used to apply becasue it was free and not realise the amount of work they had to do to complete the courses so there was a huge drop out rate and eventually the college ended up dropping the initiative altogether.
The courses are free because the government pay a set amount for each person who completes the course, more money is available if the person had no qualificairons as there was (and maybe still is I dunno) a big push to get everyone at least a level 2 qualification.
Anyway, it's not a con, like any course at college or uni you have to fit certain criteria to get onto the course, some colleges will let anyone on and others will be more selective. The courses (at least they used to be) were offered via V2L and then a college local to you would take you on and enrol you and your tutor would be from your local college, exams used to be taken reasonably locally as well.
I did a few courses myself as it was a good way of getting some extra qualificaitions at my own pace, I like to rattle through things and I can't stand waiting for others to catch up with me.
It's worth knowing that these course are distance learning which isn't for everone, you have to be really disciplined to do it and if you're not disciplined then it is likely you won't do as well as a class based course.
Anyway, if anyone wants any info or anything PM me, I'm nothing to do with V2L and haven't worked with them for nearly 3 years but feel free.:staradmin0 -
I've tried for courses when I lived in the South east, and now that I have moved to Devon too. There has been nothing available. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0
