Not doing too well this month. Being at home and stressed is playing havoc with my eating/snacking and bingeing.

However, I managed to get the leftover gammon from my weekend in London home safely. My dad won't eat it cold so it WOULD HAVE BEEN THROWN AWAY😱👿. With my electric slicer I have sandwich fillings for 10 days:j

Also, stretched a YS chicken in the slow cooker. About 8 meals there plus 3 litres of good stock for summer soup bases.
    Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18
    Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o
  • Every month I get to this point and then start loosening up the purse springs. If I separated out treats and snacks from the grocery shop I'd be laughing, but Mr Expert did a cheering-up-run to the shops the other day and came back with crisps and pate and chocolate and fizzy drinks, and I bought myself lunch the day before, and now it's tight again. $220 left for the rest of the month.
MFW diary here. 1 Feb 2017 $229,371 - MFD Feb 2043  aiming for May 2028
    14 August 2017 - Refinanced: $220,000
    January 2019 $211,580 Current MFD 31 June 2036
  • Already doomed for failure this month £183.30 / £225 with online shop of £43 arriving tmr. It was the unexpected good weather barbecue and pick your own strawberries that did it for me, but have to say enjoyed every minute of it, so not all bad. Thank goodness I can wipe the slate clean and start afresh in July!

Another one to add to the "it's not going too well" gang. Lots going on and my eye off the ball. Fortunately I have got all but one of my catering commitments out of the way. Just a lunch for 40 to deliver in July and that is the last one (and I've done the prep - in the freezer).

How did I end up with 4 pots of cream left from cream teas?

Oh well, I may have to make ice-cream so it could be worse!!

As long as I have every receipt, which I'm sure I do, we've spent £13.61 since I last posted.
Unfortunately I need to buy oranges and bananas still as I have them at break at work and OH will need a loaf of bread and carton of milk minimum. So I can't see us coming in budget. Will do as best as I can to keep the overspend to a minimum.

    £148.80/£150.
    £1.20 left.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D

    Morning all,

Looks like the weather will be much more sociable today. I've managed three nsds since my shop on Sunday, which is extra amazing considering I went to @sd@ to get the new Lego batman movie for my son. I'm clinging on to my £1.93!! It's sw tonight, and I usually go to morries on a ys hunt afterwards, so I'll need to dig deep for some willpower to come straight home.

I've started to make little holes in my freezer - will carry on with this. Dinner tonight won't be from the freezer though as I fancy spaghetti on toast. I'll get a pork chop out for tomorrow's dinner though, so small steps!

Hope everyone has a frugal, cooler day.

I don't want to sound ungrateful, but thank god the heatwave is over!!! I really don't get on with the heat at all - early to mid 20s is perfect for me!! And my poor little animals in my rescue have been miserable (like me lol)...

Anyway, all good now and I will be able to catch up on some housework etc. I've been working overtime to stay in the air conditioned office!! 7.5 hours so far this week :rotfl:

65p spend on Tuesday for garlic, but I shouldn't need anything else now. If I am running short by Sunday, I'll get 2 veg items just to do roast veg and tofu for Sunday tea, but I have made MASSIVE inroads into my freezer by making a coherent meal plan, so I'm on track for it to be empty by the weekend ready for defrosting. YAY!

  • Morning all,

First time I've checked in since the second week of June - little one made a very dramatic entrance, and our world has been tipped upside down this month!;)
Might have been slightly ambitious to start focussing on budgeting this month :rotfl:, however I suspect things would have been far worse if I hadn't!

Spends to report are as follows:

£119 Takeaways and hospital coffee shop
    £142.02 Food shops

This takes me to a grand total for June of £304.19 (£54.19 over budget, although £73.68 of the spends this month could have been avoided if not forced to purchase expensive coffee shop items )

Meal plan for the rest of the month is as follows:
22 Th Sweet n sour tiger prawn stir fry
    23 F Keralean cod / Vegetable risotto
    24 S Paella
25 S Lunch Fish and chips, Dinner fresh pasta/sauce
    26 M Pizza and chips
27 T Risotto and lightly spiced Basa fillets
    28 W Dinner out
29 Th Paella with veggie sausages and broccoli
    30 F Pizza and chips

Hope that everyone is well, and enjoying the lovely cooler weather:T
