Congratulations Budgetbabe! It's simultaneously the best and the worst thing in the world having a small person so enjoy but don't feel guilty if it all feels a bit much at times.
I'm mega impressed at the meal planning. I think I lived off camembert on toast for the first few weeks of my son's life (making up for 9 months of not being allowed it). That and jelly beans to keep me going through the night feeds. Hmm.. That may not have been a completely balanced diet. I should have had some crisps as well. ;-)0 -
still hanging on to the last £7 of budget for the month. ys goodies are calling but ive got to fend them off!!! im just being greedy in preparation of the goodies I may find! not going give in! .......0

Still here, nothing really to report at the moment... we seem to have slipped into a very comfortable shop on a Sunday then coasting the rest of the week... so no spends since Sunday here.
I will say though, last night I was so tempted to deviate from the meal plan and nip to the shop to buy something else... but as I had no budget for this, I made the planned meal and it was actually really delicious
Congrats BudgetBabe
Well done to everyone on track and to those who aren't doing so well, remember that you can learn from this! And from reading back, nobody is doing particularly dreadfully so well done for still being here

So my month is up today, payday tomorrow.
I honestly thought we spent a lot on groceries but doing this challenge for the first time has proved to me that it's not as high as I thought. That's good!
So my target was too high and it wasn't a struggle at all.
Total this month = £272.30/£315
Bring on July where I will cut the target back.
Thank you guys I've enjoyed this.Let's be happy!!0 -

Might have been slightly ambitious to start focussing on budgeting this month :rotfl:, however I suspect things would have been far worse if I hadn't!
Spends to report are as follows:
£119 Takeaways and hospital coffee shop
£142.02 Food shops
This takes me to a grand total for June of £304.19 (£54.19 over budget, although £73.68 of the spends this month could have been avoided if not forced to purchase expensive coffee shop items )
Meal plan for the rest of the month is as follows:
22 Th Sweet n sour tiger prawn stir fry
23 F Keralean cod / Vegetable risotto
24 S Paella
25 S Lunch Fish and chips, Dinner fresh pasta/sauce
26 M Pizza and chips
27 T Risotto and lightly spiced Basa fillets
28 W Dinner out
29 Th Paella with veggie sausages and broccoli
30 F Pizza and chips
Hope that everyone is well, and enjoying the lovely cooler weather:T

So a spend of £18.39 brings my total to £97.57/£100. That's after a shop that was meant to cost me £9 that fell into the reduced to clear section
Hopefully that's the last spend of the month though, and I'm stocked up for next week and weekend. Very close to the limit, especially considering I've been away for 7 nights out of 30 :eek:Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

BudgetBabe congratulations, and I don't think anyone here is going to say being over budget right now for you is terrible. After all as you said it could have been worse.
Spent £5.47 today. Still items we need to buy. I'm hoping we don't spend more than £10 more, we have a week left still.
154.27/150.
-£4.27. £4.27 over budget.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0
