Sorry... The debt in your name, that you were not aware of? Is it actually yours or has your ex used your details to get credit?
Are you paying for anything that is actually his responsibility?
I'm sorry, I know I am asking all these questions... just trying to get head round things... and try and help (((((HUGS)))))BUGGRITMILLENIUMHANDANDSHRIMP I TOLD EM! - Foul Ole Ron
It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

The debt is his but my name.
I've emailed them all though, unless I want to take it further I guess I'm liable. I just sent my SOA and offered a ridiculous low amount for now because right now they are my least priority. It just adds to the overall mess
The new debt - yep was something he owed and I've now paid. However I needed to resort to this for my own peace of mind - long story. But now that's another debt in my name I owe. Well worth it but still a kick in the face of something else to sort.
When really that should have been used to keep the roof over our head and gas/electric/food. All things that have been pushed to the bottom of sorting all this out.
Like I say all this is just a drop in a the ocean of what else is going on.
I'll no doubt find a way to battle through this month. But then it will all start again the next and so on. It's like there's no end in sight.0 -
If there is debt in your name that you had no idea about, then surely that is fraud? Please seek legal advice about this. If it's something to do with your ex then I'm afraid it's his responsibility to sort it out not yours. I don't see why you should have to deal with it.
I don't think anyone who reads your diary thinks that this isn't a big deal. We all have our problems, but this is serious and needs to get sorted ASAP.
Take care Hidden xxI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Like I said it isn't all him at all. It isn't really his fault.
This just added to the other stuff has all led to where I am now. Just this bit I can post about here as it's debt related.
He isn't to blame.
Someone has given wise words this weekend and listened where needed and helped immensely. I now know I have to sort it and deal with it and the end goal is still there (even if I can't see it or feel like it right now). If I don't the smalls would end up with him and I think that's enough to scare anyone into brushing themselves off and sorting it from the bottom upwards.0 -
If someone has arranged credit through your identity, then you can report them to the police and the company that gae them credit.
Depends on how far you want to take it.
Just a thought - you may be emotionally all over the place and not wanting to rock the boat through various factors but if this is a dealbreaker or there is a dealbreaker happening, in a few months you're going to be angry at yourself for not pursuing it, so have a think about how you may feel in a few months time before you decide for or against going further.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

Thank you, I won't rush into anything right now. I've spoken to them and I've arranged a payment plan for now. I can't fault how helpful they where.0 -
