I don't like to let thing's slip/roll over to the next day. It makes me really anxious and then I can't settle anyway
On saying that it was lovely to get up this morning and everything be organised so I could sit in the living room with a cuppa in quiet.
We've done homework and what needs doing at home. Think we might wrap up and venture out for a walk and get some fresh air. I need it more than the kids I think
Hope everyone is having a lovely day x0 -
I'll be blunt Hidden - I hear what you're saying about letting the cleaning etc roll over making you anxious - but particularly with the winter coming up you HAVE to learn how to deal with that I think. Imagine what happens now if you exhaust yourself to such a point that you end up ill? The kids need a healthy Mum, not bedding washed daily or a house that's spotless at all times - that's just not real life. Can you address what has made you think that things have to be done in the way that you do them perhaps, and ask to specifically tackle that with your counselling sessions? I honestly think you're at risk of ending up in a complete state of exhaustion if you continue as you are, and I can't in a ll conscience sit back and watch that happen without saying something. You have a lot of friends on here and you KNOW that we wouldn't all be saying this if we didn't genuinely think it was something you needed to work on.
Your comment about not letting things slip - that struck me. You realise that not mopping a floor every day, not changing bedding on a daily basis, that's NOT letting things slip - it's just perhaps being prepared to address things at a level at which they actually need doing? I certainly hope so, otherwise i get the nasty feeling that everyone reading this is letting things "slip" to a positively horrendous level...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hey Hidden
Hope you're ok missus...
I think it is all about "managing things" really and how we all "manage" as individuals is as individual as each of us are erm... individual...
I know that I, for one, have to keep myself busy in order to function at my best. Which is why I have so many hobbies...
It's my coping mechanism. Having struggled with mental illness, depression, anxiety for most of my adult life. I have like most folks who consider themselves survivors (or coping) built up routines and such to get through each day.
Change is hard, it's difficult to deal with and even now I can have a wobble when something doesn't go to plan...
You have a routine, a rota for getting things done... a process...
A major part of my day to day work in operations is to ensure that business and production processes are functioning efficiently...
If I was to push my team to their limits, yeah everything would be at it's optimum level except one major element... their work and life balance...
What I'm trying to say is that I think you may be pushing yourself to hard, take a wee step back and think about things... you are amazingly good at planning and organising so you can take a look at your way of doing things and see where you can as it were, make savings, not on money, you got that handled, on time. Time that you can have for yourself and with the wee ones, without being tired all the time.
As I said, we all need to manage in our own ways and I know you can and you will get through everything that life throws at you. You just need to make sure that YOU have a balance ok?
Sorry for going on and on but like most folks on here... I care

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

Evening
Thank you for all your lovely replies
I know I have to find that balance, my go to is cleaningIf other things are going on that I can't control/make me worry I clean. Over clean. Cleaning/food is my thing. There isn't a balance with either right now and logically I know that. Both need working on.
Today has been dry no rain! We made the most of it after doing the jobs this morning. We went for a walk and collected leaves and things. Once home we made pictures (made a huge mess I think I'll be finding glitter for weeks!)
Smalls are all bathed and happy sleeping in bed. Need to make a start on DS room next weekend so have been clearing things out of there ready for that. Good thing is it should be far easier than the girls.
Have a few things sold on eBay this evening so need to sort that and list a couple more to make the most of my 20 listings a month.
Hope everyones had a good day x0 -
Hey missus
Glad you and the wee ones had a good day doing fun stuff...
and I'm glad too that you know that your balance is off and that you need to "centre" or "reset" yourself.
Believe me, I know how hard that is...
But Hey, no downers... today was a good un
Good wi that

Sounds great fun collecting leaves. Aren't the colours amazing at this time of year? The toddler found conkers today and was very excited to fill the pushchair with them.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

The colours are brilliant. Youngest loved that there are so many different colours and shapes. She really had fun.
We have some pretty similar stuff planned for the next few weekends. All free fun but gets us out the house. We want to try and visit the Zoo when we go away at half term. So we really need to not spend anything but on the same token not feel like they are totally doing nothing all weekend.0 -
Totally understand that. I'm thinking of activities to do with my younger ones so life isn't just school and housework but fun days to look forward to as well. The zoo sounds a great idea!paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.
