Well done with all the negotiations with the fine. Agree that you shouldn't be paying too and hope there is a way to get it off your books completely.
Great news about the shampoo and pleased about the clothes

So angry with your OH letting you pay his fine
You've been given some sound advice from other posters. Aside from that all sounding good re shampoo, clothes and surveys paying for house stuff

Good Morning,
I was just wondering if you had a good relationship with your health visitor? I know of a charity that will give money to families for carpets, it is for single mothers only and the health visitor has to send a letter as well as a quote for the carpet. I'm not really happy to post it on the main site because it's quite a small charity but if it's something you think your health visitor would do I can inbox you the details.

Hidden, the bailiffs can come to the house but if you tell them he doesn't live there they are not allowed to ask you for the money.
The bailiff will say whatever they can get away with and start spouting some crap about you being liable - they just know you are the path of least resistance.
Bailiffs very rarely take any goods - its a threat to get people to pay. They are not going to want a 2nd hand sofa or chairs etc - they just wouldn't make any money at auction.
I'm surprised you were allowed to discuss the account as its not in your name - complete breach of data protection rules.
If you have your council tax bill with the single person discount on it then that is enough proof to prove he doesn't live there.
They can go to his new place and then it would be up to his friend to prove the items belong to him.
Can you give the fines department a call with ex's new address and his employer and explain that the bailiff is threatening you even though you have told him that ex doesn't live there.
CAB should be able to help with this.
DO NOT use any website that makes you pay for advice and if someone PM's you on this site offering to help ignore them (unless its me obviously!!) as there is a lady on here who is undercover for bailiffs and she offers help to people in PM and then tells all to the bailiff companies.
Sorry should just make clear that I am a Debt and Benefit Adviser in my main job so I do know bailiff law hence the advice.0 -
Hidden, I hope you manage to get everything sorted regarding EX OH fine.
EE has some sound advice as always and you should see a solicitor and start sorting out things like maintenance, its about time your ex grew up, faced his responsibilities and took ownership of the decisions he has made in life.
Take care lovely.x.0 -
As usual excellent advice from EE. Don't be bullied or let anyone threaten you and whatever you do don't pay another penny towards his fine. It's time he grew up and started to live in the real world.
You do so well with these surveys. I tried 5 yesterday and got rejected for every one. Guess I just don't fit the profile.
Have a good day with the wee ones.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
I think I got somewhere with the fine when they called me back this morning. Will wait for the post before I believe it though. He's supposedly sending money for it to me anyway so we'll see tomorrow.
In other news.. I have a gas leak and I'm waiting for transco. Along with no boiler until Housing can come out to fix it.
Anything else going to go wrong?0
