Definitely, my prepaid card ran out 8 weeks ago so I've avoided collecting my scripts :o Will get it sorted next week though. Income support said I should expect to hear from them within 2 weeks so hopefully won't be long.

I hope you hear about the income support soon. That should help a lot hopefully and just fill the gap until you start work. Great plan for next week by the way.

Kids are earing their roasts :D They've made cake for pudding and biscuits and cornflake cakes for snacks in the week.

Just catching up while their baths running then they can jump into bed and I can clean and iron there isn't much to do.

Formula one :( boohoo! DS was made up with the result though. Least one of us is happy :rotfl:

Good evening. Haven't managed to post in a while but I have been reading. Cant believe how well you are doing!
Glad you have finally applied for income support, then you should also get council tax help and rent help. Once you start work, just update the relevant departments, don't just stop the claims, as you might still get some help. You may also get free school dinners and milk tokens? I'm not sure but worth looking into.

I think once things are sorted you will find you are a lot more comfortable money wise and will be able to treat you all on that holiday in October!

Hope you have a lovely week. Looks like you have lots planned to keep you busy.

0800 numbers are now free from mobiles, it came in last year i think. same as 01 02 03 numbers are geographical "landlines" so to speak and will cost minimum amounts or be used from mobile "minutes". also theres plenty of websites that, if you have a pricey number, you input that and they give you the free or lower cost numbers to call (handy for service desks), the reason behind this is every pricey number is basically a lower priced one beneath it. say no to 0870 is a good site, hope that helps!

Wasn't sure how old your youngest is, income support in that case. The claim will go through quicker if you ring rather than do a form, be prepared for a 30-40 minute call (get ceebeebees on!) When do do your income support claim you can apply for housing benefit and council tax benefit all in the same claim. Looked up the number for you 0800 055 6688. If the call isn't free on your mobile etc ask them to call you back.

I cannot wait to go away in October! I confess I tried to get a few days at the caravan over the summer holidays but I think it's pretty much booked for 90% of them and don't want to gate crash the weekends they are spending there :( Hopefully mum will offer :p :rotfl: If not October half term is booked in for me and the kids for 8 nights. Youngest keeps asking if its 'tomorrow' we go on holiday :rotfl:

Thank you I did call them, they offered to call me back so it wasn't using my minutes as they could see I was calling from a mobile :A

Will save that site though ;) thank you. I hate paying for calls and usually try to go to my mums and use her phone :rotfl:

no problem, i knew i was a couple of pages behind in reading but just wanted to dive in and let you know asap!
Theres definitely a guide on the main MSE site, but i've used that one for years. i think you can also download app to your phone and you have the "free or better priced" number there to click and it should ring that up direct from the app so not even any dialling needed.

agree with what everyone says, the system is their to help and whilst you've done amazing on surveys etc, they should be "extra" income, not the ones to sustain rent. i recently found out i was entitled to housing help, and as soon as i told them i was using DLA to pay rent currently, they even said themselves "DLA is for costs arising from disabilities, not for housing, we have extra help for that" and now i am a lot better off, and will be starting a small emergency fund.

and having had to go from a lifetime "award" of dla to pip, i lost a fair bit (nothing changed in me medically, but they deem me less disabled, but hey the rebranding excercise / government money saving is a rant for another day lol)

and also depending on hours you WILL be working (note not currently!) theres rules on how many your allowed before benefits affected, and speaking from myself, the rules are less tight if you have disabilities or care for someone with, or kids, so you may get a wage and not see as much of a reduction in any benefits when you do work vs someone who didnt have kids or other needs etc.

oh and you spurred me to join PA survey site, in 4 days ish im just under £5, but i havent been "eligible" for a survey for the past 2 days so maybe i don't "fit" lol. not bad for less than an hours work,
